Bam Adebayo with a historic night, scores 83

for anyone watching it live it looked fishy too. If the nba is legit you almost feel like they’d be embarrassed by what took place in that game

Maybe I should’ve left that part out. It’s just a bad look

100 ladies in one night? That Wilt was something else.

83 for a guy averaging 19 points per game? That ratio has to be a record.

Nba let’s LeBron touch the refs and nothing happens. Funny pistons start play stinky when Tatum returns

I don’t care what everyone says, Canadians are smart.

It should be noted that @stephenboyd57 should not be used as the measuring stick of Canadian intelligence.

83 is obviously a huge number.

Bam is a well-liked player and seems like his peers are genuinely happy for him.

But, yeah, I just have a hard time being super impressed. 83 pts and you don’t even manage 50% shooting? Kobe shot 61% on his 81-pt. night. Almost half the pts from the FT line? Force-feeding Bam the ball with the game well in hand?

Ugh.

We were talking about this last night at bowling. At first you see 80 points and think it’s something amazing happening. Then when you looked at the stat line, it was a real “wait a minute…” moment.

The guy didn’t even have a good game, but scored 83 points… This wasn’t a night he was on fire and literally everything he threw up was going in. It was a night he missed more than half the shots he took, outside of free throws. In hockey, this would be like hearing about a guy scoring 8 goals in a game, and then finding out 6 of them were empty net goals.

Follow the money here, and the real story will come out.

It’s garbage bullshit. The NBA can go ■■■■ itself. ■■■■■■■ trash. Washington should have sent in a guy to start swinging like Mahorn and Laimbeer on him. Then after the ejections another. Then another until he swings and gets thrown or gets knocked the ■■■■ out.

Demonstrate the absurd by a greater absurdity.

Or players take matters into their own hands. The league is just so soft and unwatchable. Just look at the score 150 to 129. Zero defense being played.

This was the f****** players taking the game in their own hands, screwing the paid spectators, to make them watch a goddamn Foul Fest for their own stupid selfish reason to let some third level All Star get his name in the record books. That’s the problem w this league now. Inmates running the asylum.

Adam Silver’s grandadddy was Neville Chamberlain and his other grandaddy was Vichy

If you give a player 43 shots from the field and 43 more free throw attempts then every team in the league has a guy that could score 80 points. Shit that 100 point Wilt game might get broken

This is the number 1 reason and argument against all of the people who say “we need more offense”. The NBA went full leaning into letting offenses do whatever they want, not enforce rules, etc and they’ve destroyed their product. Their ratings are pitiful. No one wants to watch a “sport” where the players just let each other score and no one is allowed to try to stop it. Think of the NFL and NBA All Star games where defense isn’t allowed, and how absolutely no one pays attention to those games now.

Sports its supposed to be about competition, me versus you, may the best man win. It was never about “I’ll let you score if you let me score.” No one wants to watch that, let alone pay to watch that. The NBA is struggling as a league because of it.

I didn’t watch a moment of the game. However, after seeing a highlight of him scoring with under 2 minutes left and his team up nearly 30 I realized it was a load of crap (like pretty much everything related to the NBA).

The NBA is becoming stupid. They need to swing the pendulum back to more defense and make it harder, not easier, to score.

Agreed the NBA is trash, and has been for at least a decade or more. Now they’re trying to spin the “pay no attention to how it happened, just enjoy it” message to anyone that will listen. Years from now, Bam’s name on that list will be a “who the hell is that?” reference.

Pfff. I could have done that. I just don’t really like playing basketball anymore.

Not defending Bam, but Kobe’s 81-point game that folks pretend is so pristine came in an 18-point blowout against a terrible Raptors team, 28 of those in the 4th quarter, and his last 7 points all came at the line in the last 3 minutes. Kobe took 46 shots and shot almost as many free throws (20) as the entire Raptors team. Only the Seattle SuperSonics were rated as a worse defensive team than the Raptors for that season.
