But they don’t want to pay him top dollar at ILB.
Can’t imagine they can replace a player like that very soon.
Edmunds is due $15 million in new cash for 2026… the final year of his deal at age 28.
This is interesting, because that is substantial cash, but not a crippling cap hit. They must really want to get cheaper for the production he offers.
Seems like Ben Johnson has a significant say in the direction of their cap allocation after last year’s spending on the O line.
He may be asking for an extension as well… and perhaps this is their way to “guage his value”.
