I donāt think he goes anywhere near that. I truly believe the āopportunityā to coach āAmericaās Teamā is viewed way differently by BJ than it is other coaches.
Agreed. And the least bad ownership situation. ALL of the rest of the options @Weaselpuppy listed are train wrecks at the very top. Khan has just made awful hiring decisions, but heās not a meddler and he cares, so heāll shell out the money if his GM tells him to. Itās just always the wrong GM.
Iāve always heard itās more important to them that itās a āNew Orleansā guy. Someone whoās coached there before. That would narrow the options substantially.
Theyāre not a train wreck at the top either, but theyāve got a LONG way to go at QB and on the OL. That will make them less enticing. And Loomis might be past it as a GM, but it doesnāt seem like ownership has any interest in firing him. He basically runs the team. I think AG would be all for it since he and Mickey apparently have a good relationship, but Ben? I donāt know.
I could always be wrong of course, but Iām very suspicious of Breer on this one. (and what he actually said was āI heard that was the one he wanted.ā.)
It actually makes a great deal of sense. Established defense. Elite qb prospect that the FO is locked into and lots of weapons. Now i will believe he leaves when the ink has dried on his new contract w the new team and adam schefler has announced itā¦but team perspective it makes sense. A counterpoint would beā¦in the same division as dan and lafluer and Kocā¦really?
Right, since Loomis took over with Payton. I know theyāve only made one official change, but apparently he said in an interview that understanding what the Saints were about is important, ever since then their fans have been shooting down anyone who hasnāt already coached there.
