A nice little exclusive for you Denizens. My Uncle Kirk (layne22) was an avid Lions fan, and the one who introduced me to this team when I was too young to know any better. He was also a collector, attending official team auctions, where they would sell off game worn jerseys to the highest bidder. I also remember that he became friends with the team’s locker room manager around that time, but don’t recall what that led to.
Since he passed away, my aunt has been able to sell off some of his prized assets, including game worn Barry Sanders jerseys, etc (I think my Uncle had the 75 year anniversary jersey).
I’ll be posting at least a dozen game-worn jerseys for bid (among them, Bennie Blades, Brett Perriman, Pat Swilling) to users on this forum. Some of the them are signed. Most are throwback unis. From the pictures, it appears they all have certificates of authenticity from the Lions.
I actually have an authentic air freshener from the getaway car Breshad Perriman used after he robbed Brad Holmes and made off with $2M. I think its going to be a collectors item some day, like if someone had an air freshener from Bonnie & Clyde’s getaway car.
