Ben’s a really smart guy and I love listening to him on pods, and the Ringer pod is one of my faves so I’ve heard a lot of these. I knew he was a big Quentin fan and loves Ringo and Banks, and he’s not alone. And I agree with some of them, he’s lower on Paris Johnson and Tyree like me, high on JSN and higher on Clark Phillips, Joe Tippmann, and Benton. So I suppose it’s about like any other draft media guy, I like some and don’t like some lol.

The Bryce Young comparison, ha ha

Carter is nowhere near Suh as a prospect, in my opinion. Suh was a relentless pass rusher that finished (violently). Carter is my favourite player in this draft and I think he’ll be good. Suh is a hall of fame caliber player.

Ringo and Phillips both in top 20???

Yeah, it’s just so hollow.

Before all of the hub-bub over the wreck I was very vocal in rejecting a Suh comparison. It’s ridiculous, IMO.

Find Nebraska Suh tape with him on the turf or not impacting a play. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a play, let alone entire quarters.

I agree, Suh was a monster in his senior year, almost unstoppable. But if Suh had entered the draft as underclassman, like Carter it might have been a bit different. Suh played 5 years of college ball due to the medical redshirt season. And Suh had a very good junior season, a lot of people were surprised he went back for his senior year where he just went wild.

Then Benjamin should find a comp that did. LOL

He even compared a dude to Sewell… like that’s even possible. haha next he’s going to compare a punter to Fox.

Yeah Wright might have Sewell’s level of strength, but he’s nowhere near the athlete. I like Wright but that’s not a comp I can get behind.

If I was seeing this guy for the 1st time, I wouldn’t look for anything of his again. Just saying.

Bijan at number 3 prospect overall and 1 of 3 with a 9 plus grade

Not sure what tonthinkof the rankings on the list…I do agree 8 CB in top 40 seems crazy but probably isnt

That Suh comp is terrible.

First time I’ve seen a Julian Edelman comp…
Is JSN a blocker? Cause Edelman, even as a little shit, would hit guys like your annoying little brother you brought to the Turkey Bowl.

Michael Gallup interesting comp. I said Martavis Bryant/ Palmer for him

Carter = Suh :grimacing: more Chris Jones I’d say
Spoon = Jaire

Skoron = TJ Lang I hate that comp but that makes me think we can get him and Carter draft day

Darnell Wright = Penei Sewell damnnn

Tyree I’ve always said JPP that makes sense

Really like his J Gibbs to Aaron Jones comp-makes a ton of sense

Nice to see him giving D Wright some love, not sure if Wright is Sewell but that’s okay. Not many if any are

Matt Forte is a great comp for Bijan

Edelman wasn’t even a WR in college, he played QB and was a 7th round developmental pick. He did have a few good seasons as a slot WR, but would you draft Edelman in the top 10 picks of an nfl draft!? Hell no. Brady made the dude.

This Benjamin dude was smoking some good shit when he made those comps.

This is we’re our problem lies, only 2 IDL on that list, and Benton is the only one after Carter. I’m liking Benton more and more. But IDL is pretty weak in this draft. And we really need one.

You listened to the WR podcast so you already know this, but his QT love is based on the premise that he becomes good to great at the stuff that he should be good at but currently is not. Certainly could happen. But you could make a similar argument with say Nolan Smith and yet Ben does not take the same approach. And Mayer at 9? :grimacing:

That said, Ben is brilliant and hilarious. I think he’s best at schematic stuff and researching and understanding probabilities of certain approaches types of personnel, etc then he he is at scouting but I still like and respect the kid. I don’t happen to think Danny Kelly is all that great at scouting either but again he’s funny and light hearted. That podcast is a ton of fun to listen to. The Athletic Prospects to Pros podcast pretty clearly shows that Lance and Dane have better scouting chops but they bore the fuq out of me sometimes. I do like Andy Staples but I think that Pod needs a host that specializes in levity bc neither Lance or Dane have much personality at all.

Man I could not agree more. And I’m pretty sure they brought Staples on for that reason, you remember last year it was just Lance and Dane, and that was hard to listen to. But listen I did cause they really are a couple of the best media scouts.

The Journey to the Draft pod is kind of a combo of the two, it can be dry but Fran’s just so enthusiastic that it ends up being entertaining instead. And I really respect Cosell, and while Dane’s on there too he works much better with Fran. I think Fran’s a good scout too.

Rick Spielman and Ryan Wilson are actually pretty entertaining together as well. Wilson’s a good sport though I don’t think he’s that great of an evaluator.
