I started watching Dark Winds but never got past the first episode. Not because I didn’t like it, it looked like it had potential. It felt a little True Detectivey. I’ll have to go back
Watching Black Doves now. Its been decent so far. The British know how to make TV better than Americans I swear.

It’s nowhere near as dark or complicated as true detective (which I loved, though I only watched season 1). The leads are more likable and the show has a warmer heart too.
I could see that with what I watched. I don’t think you missed much with the rest of True Detective. Others may disagree though. I’m not a huge fan of the genre really. I thought Mare of Easttown was very well made too, I guess its sort of it that “detective” show genre. Watched it for the wife, but it surprisingly drew me in and we binged it.
