Bill Belichick has basically burned the bridge back to the NFL

He is in his 70s

That’s not a bridge he needs :joy:

74 to be exact. That girlfriend blowing the dust out of his kazoo is sure to shorten his lifespan by a few years as well.

From what I have been reading, Belichick basically decided he’s not willing to compromise what he knows it takes to win. That with his age stopped him from returning to the NFL. All these smart owners can continue to cycle through young coaches looking for the next young…Belichick, and most will never find him. Meanwhile Bill returns to what he loves most, teaching.

I think him not doing much after Brady left is a stain on an otherwise amazing stretch.

A James Houston on his career. Too bad.

This phrase is going into my repertoire.

I’m not following the logic of Mr. Florio. How exactly does this burn bridges? Or is it just more meaningless babble from Mike Florio?

I get the feeling this will fail spectacularly.

I think it’s 100% dependent on his ability to dumb down the playbook. Some NFL guys don’t do that. If he puts together a staff with guys with some college experience I think he will be fine.

If he brings down Patricia, McDaniels and the crew, however…

This is - in all circumstances - the correct answer.

I see a man still trying to positively influence the changing game of football…

If he benchmarks NC as the right way to pull in players to learn pro style ball, to make even more money, he will prove everyone wrong

meh, I’m not sure the NFL was all interested in Bill tbh.

Too old… Too many demands. Bill is done in the nfl

He coached in 12 Super Bowls and has 8 rings, but his demands are too much for ego driven owners. It’s hilarious.

Honestly the gf thing is a pause for me

I know adults blah blah love and all

But I’m not even sure I’d trust him leading my college son

I don’t think so either. Bill wanted complete control and I don’t think any teams were willing to give him that!

This would be a big time hire by Belichick if it happens. Many have tried and failed to land him, including Jim Harbaugh.
