But an extreme incentive contract?

I’ll add the Chargers need a C pretty badly.
They are making these moves because they are in a mass reset mode. That includes a high amount of turnover in the coaching ranks. They have a $15M tight end that delivers Kalif Raymond pass catching production. They have room to rethink their financial decisions. 
I know you don’t like Veach but if you ask me, the GM of an “elite” team who’s done the worst job is Beane. That roster is littered with draft busts and while he deserves a lot of credit for moving up for Allen, he’s consistently struggled to build the team around him. His OL picks have been especially awful.
Both are similar situations. They hired GMs who were buddies of the head coach.
