Love the win!!! Have loved the Bruce Irvin signing since he signed! Think we should go after another old man 36 year old SUH!!!
But I am still in the fire AG camp!

Yeah yeah yeah… bad D. Weird O. Turnover…
How did Barnes do?

you know whats something i just realized
we just swept the NFC south
thats huge for the division tbh
Slops count in the NFL. Today the Lions hit the cue ball so badly that it shot back and hit them in the nuts, and then it somehow went back on to the table and knocked out every single striped ball before landing a half inch away from the 8 ball which was already teetering on the edge of a pocket. Fine. That works for me. The game reminded us of how flawed this team is, but a win is a win.
Yeah, but they also play in a lot fewer of these games that we seem to.
I’m thrilled we’re 9-3, and I don’t think we’re last years Vikings……
But it’s not the easiest feeling in the world after the last few weeks.
With a chance to sweep the AFC West again.
Not sure I get the complaint of “Lions abandoned the run.” New Orleans switched to a 5-man front and dared Goff to beat them.
I watched too many years of close losses and moral victories. I’ll take a sloppy win every week, thanks!
Also, there were some amazing plays in the game that I think some people are down playing…
To be fair the running game ground to a halt when Ragnow went down.
This is sticking with me for some reason.
Could have an entire thread on it, but it’s what I meant by lost its identity.
They really stopped before then. And what they did run were sweeps and draws. What happened to all the counters and fullback leads?
Let me ask you:
Was this a SB or bust feel to you?
If 13 months ago, when this team was 3-13-1 I told you this team would be 9-3, going to win the North, and competing for the best record in the NFL how would you have felt?
And that they did it through the draft and with virtually not really bad contracts. No dead space going forward. With all of key draft picks in order for the future and cap flexibility to keep building on this season?
I keep saying it, and I’ll keep saying it. This team is making great progress. Winning SB is slim to none. But can you say this team isn’t far better than last year? Under BH, DC, AG, and BJ we haven’t improved every year significantly?
Do you think we are unlikely to continue to grow and improve next year? When Campbell and Branch have a full year under their belt? They are going to be better. When, not if, but when we enhance the pass rush, and secondary?
I don’t wanna tell you how to feel but I feel GREAT. We are winning. Which is rare. But more, unlike a couple other flare up years (like 2014) this doesn’t feel like a 1 and done year. Every reason to be excited for this team and the future is there.
Furthermore - a division win for the first time ever (for the north) is a great year considering the last 30 years.
Everything you said can be true, and we can still say that the Lions looked like a better team at the end of last year than they do right now.
Also, I don’t think the sky is falling. I literally said it’s great we got a win on the road. But I’m also saying that they don’t look like the same team we saw earlier in the year, or at the end of last year, and it’s concerning.
This idea that it’s anathema to ever question the Lions because of their record at this point, and because they’ve been so god-■■■■■■■-awful for the better part of a century is weird.
Our expectations should always be high. They’re a professional football team.
True - but you said 9-3 doesn’t feel good. My point is that wins feel good. Ugly wins are win. There is a lot to feel good about. Even if this team falls apart - they will still win the North. They will still make the playoffs. They will still host a playoff game. They will still have a winning record.
Even if this team (and I don’t think they will) barely does anything else they will still have surpassed most reasonable expectations.
We are playing not only meaningful games in December, we are shaping the entire NFC playoff picture in December. To me, that feels great!
Dre Bly was a hell of a player for us but I never got why he would be a good coaching hire. As I recall, his time at UNC was not considered “good” and they agreed to “mutually part ways”. Of course, I consider Aaron Glenn the heart of the problem but I don’t see how hiring Dre Bly was going to help. Kind of like hiring Matt Millen. Just because you recognize the name doesn’t really mean jack squat.
For me, it’s great to sit back and appreciate the wins. I’m thrilled we’re 9-3.
But you know what would be even better? Knowing that we’ve established an identity and that double-digit wins becomes an expectation.
I don’t want to be the Vikings. The Vikings got excited about their season last year, only to find it was fool’s gold. Now, they don’t have an identity. They’re ■■■■■■. And their fans? They thought they were really onto something. Two weeks ago they were celebrating Joshua Dobbs.
Joshua ■■■■■■■ Dobbs.
Minnesota has zero identity. They’re done. Last year? Last year now has meant nothing. They’ve built on nothing. And they weren’t even building on it with Cousins.
I want to be Baltimore. I want to be Pittsburgh. I want to be San Francisco. I want to be Philadelphia. I want our record to represent the identity of the team, and to know that each week, we know exactly who those guys are. And maybe it’s just me, but something feels … very off, from the last few weeks compared to what we did at Green Bay this year and last year, for example.
Half game out of the best record in the league
