A fluke deflected pass lands in Branch’s arms.
NO forgets its fundamentals for an entire quarter.
Ragnow gets hurt, and our run game plummet.s
NO’s momentum is stalled by a fluke fumble.
NO’s second momentum ends when Carr gets knocked out.
NO’s fluky pass to Olave that should’ve been picked by Jacobs.
And yet, it was a road win against a team that isn’t awful (NO was 5-6). Right? That counts for something? But after the first quarter, you just got the sense that NO was playing professional football, and the Lions were not.
I’m glad they got a win on the road against a team that could have (and should have) beat them. A few bounces of the ball go differently, and this game could’ve been very ugly for the Lions.
My takeaway, my hope, is that Dan sees that. He sees that we won the turnover battle and still almost lost. He sees that Aaron Glenn’s defense isn’t remotely playoff caliber. And that Ben Johnson, for all of his wonderful calls, has momentary lapses that leave you dumbfounded.
A lot of talent on this team. They haven’t played good football in a month. They look like Minnesota last year. I know people will get all snarky and defensive because “9-3”!!! But this time last year they were playing their best football and this year it seems like they are playing their worst. Of course I’m happy about 9-3, but if they don’t win their division and a playoff game this year, I think a lot of us will be very disappointed.
That minnesota team won a lot of flukey games, every 1 score game, and had a negative point differential. Lets take a step back here and see how the year progresses, the lions could be frauds but that minnesota team was the biggest fraud i have ever seen statistically and otherwise
The Lions are not a finished product. Need some more play makers in Defense and I may now be sliding into the Goff may not be the guy club.
This was now 3-4 games in a row that he was not been great.
I get it. Teams have scouted the Lions and now are attacking their tendencies. But this offense needs to be better. Should have put this away in the first half.
Up by 21, playing against a horrible run defense. No idea why we threw the ball at all. I know you have to “stay aggressive” but man, just load the box and run it down their throats for the next 52 minutes.
I really think they decided to try to work on some things being up 21 - 0, and being that early in the game. That’s really the only explanation an arm-chair chud who doesnt know shit about football like me, can come up with.
