Black bear spotted in town

I had a game warden tell me, “if we knew how many bears were out there, nobody would ever go into the woods”.

There was a bear sighting at Mast Rd and North Territorial about 15 years ago.

We have way too many bears, up north. They can only go, south.

Had a cub probably 150ish run across the road right in front of us today, was only going about 50 so it wasn’t super close. Only about a 1/2 mile from our house.

Saw a moose last Tuesday, so a Moose and Bear same week. Not really normal even for up here in BFE.

Where in the U.P. are you?

Hiking in the Flat Irons south of Boulder,CO today we came across a Black Bear, about 75 yds across a shallow ravine. Healthy looking sucker.

We were on the Shadow Canyon trail, which spurs of the Mesa trail. East of Eldorado Springs.

Speaking of bears, anybody see the image of the potential of new Bear stadium? It actually looks really sharp if it’s legit!

Moose are dangerous, as bad or worse than a Black bear-Black bears will usually avoid people, unless they are with cubs, OR it thinks it can get an easy/free meal from our trash and left over food, which draws them for miles away. A Grizzly bear don’t give a chit, your there, your on the menu period.
