6.5 miles from me. They mosly stay up north but many sightings this year around the surrounding towns close to Grand Rapids area.

Had a surveillance gig in Coopersville. Client says, “ IDK mich detail, but he does drive a red Ford F150.

Not a good sign for the bear population. Could be Bigfoot scaring them, but it’s more likely humans crowding them out.
There has been a big increase in the deer population in Michigan over the last decade as well as hunting restrictions on Bears which has pumped up their population by 50 to 75% in about 12 years.
Last three cases I’ve been out on I’ve had to Swerve to miss deer early in the morning or late at night. Someone needs to come up with a deer drone system
Venison isn’t for me, but there are plenty of guys here who like it. Maybe y’all should open a restaurant chain, call it Deery Queen. I kinda think the bear thing will sort itself out.
Not according to the U.P. groups i read, the wolves are eating too many of the young deer.
We just had the police stop by our house a few days ago to tell us a bear was wandering the neighborhood. Apparently it had 2 cubs and was being aggressive. I don’t think I have ever heard of anybody being attacked by a black bear though.
The occasionally attack but usually not fatal.
