Man if we can get Simmons for that price, I think Brad would go for it. But that seems way too cheap. He’s a top 3 DT in the league.

That’s a lot of moving parts to a trade like that. Simmons might be interesting though……

He’s got some turd to him though

Does he? Obviously the incident in high school stands out and he absolutely should have handled it differently, but he was 16 and sticking up for his sister as she was getting beat up. He reacted poorly, but people do when they’re defending their family. And he’s been a stand-up citizen ever since, I think.

He was their Walter Payton man of the year nominee last year, and I’ve heard nothing but glowing reports. Hard worker, leader in the locker room. He seems to have a temper and a contentious relationship with the media, but it’s almost always in the context of sticking up for his teammates. I don’t know, he just doesn’t seem to have the kind of turd to him that will turn Brad off.

Hooker would probably have more value for them as a star Tennessee QB. It would probably benefit them to throw Levis in on the deal to end any QB controversy before it started.

Our coaches will then turn Levis into a quality back up and flip him for more assets down the road.

Why would the Titans agree to this? “They’re rebuilding!” And? Why can’t Simmons be a part of that? He’s 27.

A late second and a late third mixed with a CB who hasn’t proven anything at the NFL level isn’t exactly a ton to attribute to a full rebuild.

He acted like a complete ass in the Ravens game last year. Was doing all sorts of shady stuff. I remember him trying to take out Odell’s knee. Not like Kerby making a football play but big time bush league stuff. I could probably find it in Twitter if I weren’t too lazy. But it went on and on that game. I’ve noticed it quite a bit. Might just be a sore loser. :man_shrugging:

I don’t really get what Simmons solves this year . Our DT rotation is already awesome IMO.

We make Levi a full time Edge? Not sure that’s his greatest use case.

We need a clickbait tag for stuff like this. Lions fans are the easiest clicks on the whole internet right now.

Ah, OK. Yeah, I haven’t watched much Tennessee first-hand, just reading reports and the like. Only thing I read that was a little turdy was he gets in a lot of practice fights. Maybe he’s one of those Jekyll and Hyde types? I don’t know.

And I don’t think he solves anything, pretty much superfluous. I just love him as a player and if we could add him for cheap, I’d be for it. But if he’s a turd it’s a non-starter.

A turd like Suh………lol. Having T Williams as our Dline coach would be a huge asset if we went that route. I just want to add some quality veteran talent to the Dline. So far we have added a guy from the bengals practice squad. I trust this front office 100% but unless we get a payer I’m guessing we’re gonna run a much different scheme on defense. Again I don’t see us bringing in Crosby or Garrett but hoping for someone that can get us a legitimate pass rush.

If you just search Twitter for “Jeffrey Simmons dirty” quite a bit of non-Lionsy stuff comes up IMO.

So we’re trading for Remax Crosby?

Not going to happen.
