Not trying to hate at all, but is Cease really that good?
I mean, he was that good…but if you’re getting the player that played for the Padres last year, that is definitely an overpay.

The wildcard is Yesavage… Who was lights out in the playoffs.
He’s had some awesome seasons but also some mediocre ones no doubt. Been 2nd and 4th in Cy Young voting 2 seasons. But the 4.50 era last year is eye opening. Gotta get him back to his top form.
One thing is for sure the Jays don’t give a shit about money. They are throwing it around like crazy.

About the right deal for him, he is still in his prime. Been on him for a long time. Like him a lot. He is a #2 at best, doesnt go deep in games and can wig out and give up a lot of bombs.
That said-
Dude misses bats though. Topn5 strikeout pitcher in the majors. Big Add for the Birds.

Well fair amount of games in Yankee stadium and Fenway pitching in the AL East but overall a positive signing.
5 straight years of 32 or 33 starts too.

Definitely has nasty stuff. Averages 97 on the heater, with some nasty wipe out sliders. The walk rate was concerning last year. When he throws strikes consistently he has been a top 5 pitcher in National League at times. But the command is not always there. The swing and miss and k rate is impressive though
