Bobi Klintman, Ron Holland II have solid Summer League debuts

The Pistons lost, 94-81, but a first look at the rookies reveals some potential that could help in the long run. That’s especially true with Klintman, a 6-foot-9 forward who finished with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists in 28 minutes. He finished 3-of-7 on 3-pointers, which is a clear need area for the Pistons, but more than that, he was a defensive presence and a willing cutter on the offensive end.

Yep- Bobi’s looking like the next Luka Doncic with pick 37!

Hope springs eternal…maybe just maybe they got lucky, yet, it’s summer league as the article points out.

Over the Pistons’ first two games in this Summer League, the 6-foot-9 Swedish-born forward, who also played at Wake Forest, is averaging 15.5 points on 52.2% shooting from the field and 46.7% from beyond the arc. Klintman is also contributing seven rebounds and four assists per outing.

In addition to his offensive prowess, Klintman has proven to be solid on defense in his first two outings, performing well off the ball and in transition, and showcasing some abilities as a decent passer.

Before anyone rushes to crown Klintman next season’s Rookie of the Year, one thing must be made clear: it’s the Summer League. Klintman, along with a bunch of other newbies, will play against much stiffer competition once the NBA regular season tips off this fall.

However, for a Pistons team that was in dire need of forwards who can stretch the floor, which Klintman is proving to do, it’s at least worth pondering
