This article was a hit piece on the Detroit Lions.
It was subtle, but yes it was in there disguised as a Brad Allen article.
For real. The Hendershott penalty? Really? That’s what you bring up?
Erin Rodgers had a good take on this recently. Instead of almost all the crews getting a playoff game, why not just let the “best” crews do all of the playoff games.
Every playoff game is important and the NFL should reward merit, not participation. Wildcard weekend has 6 games. You have your best 6 crews work the playoffs. Next weekend has 4 games…lowest ranked 2 crews are out(swap from NFC to AFC games). Next weekend, 2 games, best 2 crews (once again, swap NFC & AFC. Best crew gets the last game.
I want the crew that has been shown to be the best over the entire season to be the crew that works the Superbowl. Breaking apart crews is a terrible idea. Allowing less than the best crews to do a playoff game is a terrible idea.
It’s shocking that this isn’t SOP. If you don’t reward excellence, you get a Brad Allen.
A Capital Proposal!
