Brad did not fix it

Feel like ppl are really overreacting to the Dave Birkett thing…

We have two all pro safeties injured. It sucks but how many of those all pro DBs can you realistically have?

Oline was better despite Cade Mays injury. I was hoping for a bit more from dline but does seem better than last yr.

Brad did fine. Shit we have a bunch of new young guys that BARELY started playing when it matters and BARELY have they played together much at all, mixed with our vets. STILL the whole team has to learn how to play together as one powerful team. besides that, we just won our season opener-by scratching and clawing but a win is a win. the team will be fine once they start gelling together.

With big red neon lights

IF the team still isn’t playing well by game five, then “Brad didn’t fix it.”

So, in the first half they mostly played zone.

In the second half, they mostly played man.

The tendency is field position.

So, when the Lions D is in plus territory they play zone, when they are in minus, especially red zone, they play man.

This is not my analysis, I saw a video with the actual breakdown, can’t find it now. But the numbers are crystal clear.

One is probably never going to play again and the other may not be the same player. Dj reed is to tiny to play vs bigger wr at only 5 9.

Yeah and it’s unfortunate if true but the reality is that the team hasnt moved on from Branch/Kerby yet. Contracts aside I would still want to see what they have left in the tank. I want a great corner too, dont get me wrong and maybe theres still some hail mary attempts at bringing someone in.

Watching the start of the Chiefs game made me take a look at their drafts during Brads tenure…

21’- Nick Bolton, Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith

22’- T McDuffie, Karlaftis, B Cook, L Chennai, J Watson, Pacheco

23’- R Rice, C Conner

24’- Worthy, Suamataia

25’- J Simmons, A Gillotte, N Williams

26’- M Delane

With limited late round draft slots, the Chiefs nailed the last 5 drafts, and guys they have moved on from like McDuffie, Watson, and Chenal have better them great draft capital returns. They let Chenal walk for 24M plus and replaced his snaps with Tranquil, who might be a better all around player for 3.5M.

They let McDuffie and J Watson leave for $47M combined AAV and received… 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th along with a likely 3rd round comp pick…. They spent a 1st on Delane who already has an interception in his first game and paid 5M for L Sneed….

I also can’t help but notice that veteran DCs like Schwartz, Spags, Vance Joseph, Fangio seem to be able to reload good defenses pretty easily with great schemes and ability to identify personnel fits.

Get over your self Francis ? Stupid is the guy that sees the same thing over and over but expects something different. And when it turns out like some say its the injury’s fault

They should fire Brad Holmes and run the front office by a vote of the Den.

Saying they nailed the the Xavier Worthy draft is a flat out lie

When you are picking bottom 3-4 slots every year it’s harder…

Worthy had 750 yards and 9 TDs as a rookie and Last year the entire offense was a mess… Kingsley played as good at Rat did last year. Jaden Hicks has been a great CB3/4 with 62 plus grades in back to back years along with 70 plus tackles and 3 ints at CB

Did they crush it? No…. Was a decent WR2, a solid starting LG and a rotational CB with great metrics SOLID draft when picking late without a ton of picks?

I’d take their 2024 over ours, and SO FAR It’s hard not to like their 2025 draft at least as much.

We clearly take 2023 and 2021 but they did land creed Humphrey, Trey Smith and Nicl Bolton in 2021

Id take nearly any draft over our 2024 but you said they crushed it and Worthy stinks

1-0 on way to 5th winning season in a row (something that hasn’t happened in my lifetime).

Obtained our current top 10 in the league QB via trade

1st draft =

Sewell - one of the best OT in the league, now our starting LT

Alim - had a sack vs New Orleans

ARSB - one of the best WR in the league, 10 catches vs New Orleans

Barnes - sack/INT vs New Orleans

Next draft

Hutch - one of the best in the league 2 sacks vs New Orleans

Jamo - struggled a bit week 1 but is part of a solid 1/2 WR corps

Kerby - One of the best free safeties in the league prior to injury, currently wait n see.

3rd draft

Gibbs - best RB in the league that Brad was attacked for drafting too high

Campbell - stud MLB

LaPorta - back to his one of the best in the league form, soon to get paid

Branch - one of the best in the league at what he does prior to the injury

4th draft

Rough draft all the way around.

5th draft

William = solid pairing for Alim

Tate = starting RG

Tessla = #3 WR

5th draft

Miller = starting RT

Plenty of depth and some real potential after that.

One bad draft. Still 4 winning seasons in a row and hopefully our 5th.

Might, but I’m hoping that Saylors takes a huge chunk out of Gibbs carries, and the Lions pound the rock with chain-moving passes to SLP and Saint.

9-8 this season would be a winning season yes, but Sheila herself said that doing the same this season wouldnt be good enough…so if that’s not good enough for her, you can take it up with ownership I reckon. It’s refreshing to hear an owner be a little more focused about actually competing for championships instead of “welll as long as the boys enjoyed the match, and we had a winning record again, and everybody just has fun, wellll, that is pretty, pretty good, and not too baaad…”
