Rod got alot more powerful once Sheila took over. She basically gave him the keys to the franchise. If you recall some of us were very uneasy about some guy who admittedly isn’t qualified for the position…suddenly have the entire fate of the franchise in his hands. Plus he rose up the ranks so quickly to take over the team, that it made some of us feel like he must have been angling and pushing for it. And not alot of people angle for power just so they could give it away to someone else. That’s the jist of the long conversations we had about it.
Fast forward and that is literally what Rod did. He took the power Sheila gave him and used it to bring in people and empower them to do their jobs.
I wouldn’t lump old man Ford in with Martha.
