Man I know we don’t need DT, but Quinnen Williams for a 2nd is pretty damned enticing. Someone’s getting a good player.

You’d have to imagine there would be multiple teams offering 2s. So probably a 2 plus something for us to win the auction. But I would do that in a heartbeat and I normally am stingy as hell with picks.

Breece Hall: He’s not a 5th. The guy is damn good. Theycan get more I’d guess 3rd maybe even 2nd.
Not to mention the dfense is playing good. If I was the Jets I’d stay with what they have. Draft a QB with the top pick. Make good draft choices.

Johnson and McDonald will have to be paid right away, which is probably what’s reducing their cost. You see it all the time, guys going for much less than they should because they’re coming up for contract. Hughes is very plugged-in with the Jets, he should have a good idea what’s going on.

These are extremely good players. Some are corner stones to a team. There’s no reason for the Jets to get rid of these defensive players their defense is very good right now. They should pay those guys. What they need is a QB because they have zero offense. Breece and Garret are playing great. Their 1st round pick OT is a stud.
You have to part with good players to start a rebuild, just like we did Stafford.
And Johnson and McDonald are fine players, I wouldn’t call them cornerstones. Quinnen for sure, but by the time the rebuild is over, will he still be around? It might be better to get something for him now.
Hall is a RB who isn’t happy with management, moving him is a no-brainer imo.

Quinnen is. Or was. Been a down year from him but I think a change of scenery would change that. The rest? According to PFR Jermaine Johnson has 34 career pressures in 37 games. He’s a fine player but hardly “extremely good” IMO. Will McDonald is IMO an “extremely good” pass rusher but he a complete liability if you run right at him. Breece Hall is pro Nic Singleton. You want to love the specimen but if I was using the 20-80 baseball scouting scale I’d have his vision at like a 30. In the right scheme and given the right usage he can flourish but that is true of so many backs. IMO MCII is the second best player on that list relative to his position but he is a very pricey nickel back
Really? Hall said he wants to stay. Same with Johnson. QW should be kept for sure. You’re not wrong though. I’m just giving my opinion. Not to mention they will get rid of guys who don’t fit their culture. I wouldn’t go full rebuild. That QB spot is a huge deal. Its the worst I’ve ever seen. Just having a competent QB would make a world of a difference for them.
They’ll get the #1 pick. Draft a QB. Keep your core. Not full rebuild.
And I think he’s loading it. At least that what I’ve hear from some Jets-centric pods. The presumption is that he doesn’t want to be there. When you are trying to reset culture and your best player loafing it is a massive problem.
I’ll say this again. If QW is only a 2nd rounder you do it now. I don’t care about that contract. But does he fit the culture here? BH and DC dont give a crap how talented someone is. If you’re not their guy you’re not their guy.
