Brian Branch the conductor of the defense

Gosh, to be so young, it amazes me how this kid orchestrates a lot of calls on defense. Reminds me of Ronnie Lott. Stay healthy young fella!!

I said it before and will say it again. He reminds me of Bennie Blade.

He is a great player he was my favorite DB and said from begining he was a good fit here we needed a Nickel back and he was great at it. He’s a special player for sure.

He feels like more of a ball hawk than Blades to me.

Blade wasn’t afraid of tangling up with anyone. He was a ball hawk until the NFL changed the tackling rules to protect receivers. Blades started getting all of these penalties. That was pretty much the end of him. He was old school in Goodell’s new NFL.

Bobby Boucher may have been a linebacker, but Branch is a lot like Boucher!

Both have the same initials and tons of “tackling fuel”

I think Branch might be a little smarter though!

I said Ronnie Lott because Lott played every position in the secondary and he would hit ya!!!

He’s so quick to the ball. Run or pass, he sees it. Then cuts through gaps like a hot knife through butter. Smooth and hits like a truck. What’s not to like?

DROY, definitely in the running.
OROY Laporta can hopefully battle it out with Gibbs. Gibbs needs to get going.

Amazing how many plays he made. Already looks like a savvy veteran.

Watch him deliver hits, though. He’s in control. He’s getting there and making the play, but he’s not sacrificing himself like Delmas “the human missile” would. JKerb is out again due to his playing too recklessly. He went down to a concussion last year, too.

When I talked about Branch and LaPorta being next level yesterday, it was with this in mind. They’re moving quickly, but in control. They’re reacting to the situation as it’s developing, not after it’s occurred. Their game speed is elite.

Everyone down here obviously has nothing but good things to say about him, and they’re not surprised at all by what he’s doing with us. They say he was the best tackler to come out of here in a long time.

I’ve been bringing this up over and over prior to the season starting but the game vs Atlanta really brought it out.

Watch his feet and see how quickly he diagnoses the play and is heading in the right direction at full speed. On the first play shown he’s running full speed to the point of a attack long before the ball is even handed off.

Both 2nd round rooks looking like vets. Both played a ton in college and I think that helps. Branch was starting at Bama as an 18 year old kid at one point.

The NFL isn’t too big for Branch or LaPorta, they have seen it all already. Outstanding picks by Holmes.

Teams will have to start game planning for Branch and Laporta, which should make everyone around them better.

His tackling is what I love to watch. So clean. He just knows how to go just above the knees and wrap up with power. They should make all the other players watch his tackling form.
