Brock Wright has never passed the eye test to me, he looks like a replacement level player (at best) anytime he’s on the field. He basically lives in PFFs lowest grades players weekly. I dont get it with him. When the 9ers tried to poach him for 12 million bucks I thought they were saving us from ourselves - but then we matched. Obviously there are bigger problems on the roster, etc I get all of that…. but am I missing something with this guy?
Brock Wright is just a solid role player. He can block & catch. He plays half the packages on offense and plays special teams.
He’s a try hard guy. And makes big plays time and time again when we call on the forgotten man in coverage.
TE2 he is fine. Could use a TE3 in the draft.
Find a guy mid rounds
Brock is as least as good as Dan Campbell was as a TE.
I played the position (not in the NFL, obviously). He checks all of the boxes, plus, plays on ST and plays snaps at FB.
He’s about as multiple as you can get.
Bang$$$$$$$!
I think that SF tried to poach him says something as to how he’s perceived in dirty work aspects. He’s also a pretty good athlete with a head of steam as was shown by the oh bleep screen touchdown against the Jets.
Well I think he has the complete trust of the coaching staff for doing his job and knowing his role.
Regarding SF the fact they signed him to an offer sheet shows you that it wasn’t, isn’t, just the Lions that like what he brings to the game.
Brock Wright woulda scored NFCCG when frisker got tackled on the 1 against SF and essentially ended us the game
(Zach Ertz would have too)
I actually think Brock Wright fills a nice role for a decent price. He’s made some plays. Take a look at the video below, especially the second clip where he scores on a 50 yard touchdown against the Jets to win the game with less than two minutes to go. Dude has wheels and is usually competent. Problem is, like with most tight ends, you can’t lock him up against a monster defensive end.
I mean we are now going after the guys 45-53 on the roster???
Brock Wright is like 30-35 give the man some respect

Don’t pay any attention to those PFF grades. The only reason those grades are so terrible every week is because we ask him to block and he is just not very good at it.
I was just gonna say he plays just like Dan Campbell did. He just might be a HC type like Dan Campbell too…but that is so far down the road!
#53 on the roster is always a huge part of the problem. Can be the only problem sometimes. Tear him apart.

His blocks this year are way off. Hes missing his blocks
I think he was 1 on 1 vs Trey & Miles and they ate him up.
But that’s an extremely difficult ask for your TE2 to do that.
If we can do that regularly we will score 50 every game
Brock seems to be struggling in blocking this year. I have seen multiple games where he has had significant blocking fails resulting in busted plays. Not sure what the issue is. Overall he has been solid for us but if his struggles continue I can see them looking to upgrade.
You are Wright about this with pun intended. I counted two missed block assignments against the Bengals last week. I haven’t seen the full KC game but will do so when I get back home
He was bad yesterday.
I would say watch the screen pass to Gibbs in the left flat that gets blown up for a 3 yard loss by LB Drue Tranquill. Maybe somebody can provide us with video of that play I believe in the 3rd quarter.
Block Right is wrong, bitch.

Dem’s fightin words!
This regime has also told players they need to take a pay cut to remain on the roster.
Plenty have taken the pay cut.
They haven’t done that yet with Brock.
.
Coincidence?
