Red zone performance has to better than we’ve seen in a long time.
I’m probably the biggest “fuck the stats” guy here.
I know there is merit in that sort of stuff, but that is a byproduct of the energy and effort…Stats are the side effect, not the cause.
I saw exactly what I thought I would from an energetic standpoint…a Clay Guida fight. You might beat him, but it is a crazy fist fight that is not fun…and you are happy AF for it to be over, and the win was a huge pain in the ass to get.
Loving it.

I may have missed someone, but of the main contributors, Rodrigo had the highest PFF grade on our defense with 73.4 while Derrick Barnes was 29.4. Michael Brockers was graded at 41.4, compared to Bugg at 65.5, Alim McNeil at 57.7 , and newly added Benito Jones at 41.5.
4/4 in the red zone is another great positive from yesterday
Brockers needs to just become a coach. Benito Jones who has been here for a cup of coffee got a better grade! (Albeit by 0.1)
Still, not bad for a first game. And with all the talk about jitters, the lions had to have some, especially the rookies. That crowd was loud as all get out yesterday! While home field and a crowd like that is a huge advantage, it’s gotta be a little unnerving if you aren’t used to it.
They’ll regroup and we’ll have plenty of loud games this year, and they’ll better feed off it. Like Luther Elliss getting the crowd pumped all the time!
Yeah I don’t get were Cap is coming from with the coaches holding Barnes back thing. The guy just doesn’t seem ready.
