If I could pick one “re-do” draft pick in Lions history, it would be Randy Moss over Terry Fair. Had the Lions added a WR with the talent of Moss, maybe Barry sees hope for the franchise, they don’t finish 5-11, and he keeps playing.

My No. 2 do-over pick would be Dan Marino instead of FB James Jones. For obvious reasons. The Lions didn’t have a QB.

No. 3 would be Aaron Donald over Eric Ebron. Perhaps, Donald’s addition would’ve been enough to get the top 5 defense in 2014 over the hump.

Each of those picks came at a critical time for the franchise.

Sure, Andre Johnson over Charles Rogers and Demarcus Ware over Big Mike Williams both deserve honorable mentions, but I don’t think either substituted pick would have changed the course of the franchise.

One of two Detroit sports players that I feel so lucky to have watched their entire career.

Never met Barry, but, I met Steve a few times. Great guy.

We always hear the same narrative Barry retired too soon…he was in his prime.

The dude played 10 seasons in the nfl and missed like 8 games total.

It’s amazing he can even walk. Good for him for retiring when he did IMO. Most RBs can’t manage a couple healthy seasons. Barry was the best for a decade

I think I like old pudgy goofy Barry better than the hall of fame version. He has so much more personality these days. I really think he’s the reason that Calvin is in the fold now. You can’t help but see the best player in team history and how humble he is and not be impressed if you’re Calvin.

Agreed… Smoke a little grass and think about how insignificant you are in this crazy world.

Both Barry and Calvin… good dudes with insane talent that are humble about it. Love it.

Glad we got them back in the fold.

At the time Barry got crushed because management wanted to know where he stood regarding retirement and he was silent. Then he announces retirement AFTER the draft and left the Lions hanging.

Pretty sure he wanted to be traded and the Lions were stubborn idiots about it.

Imagine the draft capital we could have got for both Barry and Calvin. Instead we played hard ball with them and got jack squat

Thankfully we didn’t do that with Stafford
