I think the Lions are fortunate that Miami is still in the playoff hunt. Had Campbell been released, there was a chance he’d be claimed by the Vikings, who would have a waiver priority over the Lions.
If Miami beats the floundering 4-12 Jets, they’re may be in as a wildcard.
3. Week 18 Scenarios
Thanks to the Dolphins win over the Browns, and losses by the Broncos and Colts in Week 17, Miami has a path to the playoffs entering the final week of the season.
If the Dolphins beat the Jets, and the Broncos lose to the Chiefs, Miami will return to the postseason for the third consecutive season.
“For the first time in my life, I’m about to be a big Chiefs fan,” Calais Campbell said after the game.

Dolphins fans remember the 2016 season when the Dolphins won on Christmas Eve in Buffalo, followed a Chiefs win over the Broncos on Christmas to punch their ticket to the postseason.
