Caleb Bo Callahan Williams

Cmon Bears, draft this guy

Forget getting a ridiculous haul for the #1 pick

Draft Bo Callahan and trade Fields

This will be his official name after they draft him. In fact @Nate should change it right now so that every time someone types his name it changes it to Bo Callahan.

God bless y’all! But there’s a lot of hopeful thinking going on around here. Take away the media hype and Fields has been beyond underwhelming. With Williams there is a unknown. With Fields ya sorta know the Bears are not a legitimate threat.

Lincoln Riley is a great play caller, but he doesn’t know how to build a college program. Caleb Williams has sort of been caught up in that. He’s an incredibly talented QB who was in a program that just doesn’t have an identity. Put him at Alabama and he has championship rings.

Don’t get me started on Caleb Williams and his God complex and how some people can’t see this is beyond me.

Confidence is one thing. But this dude thinks he is going to be immortal. He would not do the easy thing and give his “god blood” to the NFL scouting combine in a 90 min medical that is shared with all 32 teams.

He would rather go and do 90 minute medicals for every team he visits. The big reason the combine was started was for medicals check on prospects to stream line the process. Dude dictated to bears when he would do a medical for them. The bears wanted to do one Tuesday and he declined saying wait tell after pro day.

Why even have a pro day since you are the best QB in the NFL in your own eyes.

Fields has beaten us twice in 5 games.

Which actually makes a certain amount of sense. The only teams he is going to do medicals for are the teams which may legitimately draft him. Why give that information to the Chiefs? The Ravens? They aren’t in the picture. Never give out free information on yourself if you don’t need to. I can actually understand the logic there, even though it’s been framed as a vanity choice.

The real question is, is there something actually there that his advisors doesn’t necessarily think is smart for everyone to see?

Just glad we have our starting QB and his backup.

So Bears (who are a legitimate team to draft him) ask for a medical and he says no, I want to delay it until later. Also declines medical at combine.
Hmmm…maybe buy some time to get something out of his system?

That’s what I thought. He smokes weed and had to get it out of his system. The NFL only test for weed once a year unless you’re in the program. If he got popped at the combine he would be in the program from the jump.

The NFL is littered with guys who think they will walk in and be great. The NFL is not college. If you want any further proof look at Lawrence. Dude has an impeccable resume. His win/loss in HS (52-2) and won a Natty at Clemson (40-2?) . And yet he has struggled. And he is a pass first guy who can also scramble. Like the perfect hybrid QB that everyone loves.

Meanwhile we all assumed Stroud would struggle (at least I did for sure) and here he is murdering the league. Now I do think that with 18 games of tape the defenses will study his tendencies and he should have a bit of regression this next year. But the reality is that there is no way anyone could have predicted his numbers.

So William might be the truth or he might be a top 10 of all time flop. Only time will tell. He does strike me as a “its not my fault” type of player right now. Which is something he will need to fix. As that does not fly too well in the NFL and it especially does not work for rookie QBs.

Thats a Lions defense problem. Not a Justin Fields problem.

Again, the league doesn’t want this guy. He’s not good. Expecting Bo Callahan to be worse is a pipe dream in my opinion. Hope I’m wrong but its very unlikely.

Fields is a serviceable QB. In the right place he has proven he can compete and win some games. I do agree that he is not a QB that seems like someone who will ever be top tier.

I would say it is a coin flip if Bo is an upgrade or downgrade. So to assume either way is just good fun. I do not know how anyone could say either way is a bad choice. The NFL is just a brutal league. Was just saying that Jamo was all world in college and has at best struggled in the NFL. So being fst is not nearly enough.

Agree Bo might be better, but Fields was killing us.

Fields + all the draft capital they could get from trade is > Bo Callahan for sure

Well lets just say that with the correct GM and scouting staff this is 100% a correct statement. I am less and less impressed with most of the GMs in this league. There are quite a few badly run franchises. Maybe it is due to owners meddling or maybe it is coaches meddling. But something as relatively easy as who to draft in the top 10 seems to be a struggle for most.

I must say that I enjoy how a mid-tier movie about the NFL draft has become such a cult classic with football nerds that the name Bo Callahan can be thrown around without anyone on this board being like, ‘who the ■■■■ is that?’

Williams probably is the lost Bo Callahan like QB in recent history.

Josh Rosen is another Callahan but I don’t think people had him going #1.

I think part of fans wanting to see fields gone is the fear that the light will go on for him in the passing game. If he takes a step forward in that area he’s an all pro quarterback.
