Honestly, I don’t think he was one of them, if anything he was intrigued. But he also seems like the kind of guy that would laugh along with this.

Kyle has always kind of sucked at his job IMO. He was serviceable when Justin carried his ass.

That was no little gentle jab, either. It was delivered in a somber, genuine moment very, very intently.
It would be understanding if Dan is thinking, “we’re in the NFC championship game and you want to talk about a freaking press conference three years ago?”

It began as a very good conversation with Eric Wood (I think), marking the 3-year anniversary of that speech.
3-years to the day he demonstrated exactly what he talked about.

From the day after Dan got hired - Kyle doesn’t sound critical at all.
I did a date/range search for the week that Dan got hired, so maybe I missed another article. I couldn’t find any article where Kyle was bashing Dan or that initial press conference. Not sure where Dan’s comment is coming from.

There has to be some backstory, right? Dan typically stops and applogizes when he feels like he was unfair.
He typically lets guys off the hook after delivering a zinger when it’s just a joke. He was not joking.
Still, I think “full savage” is burying the lede. E had a question and reply that belongs at the forefront.
We cross-posted, but, yes. When it’s just a friendly jab he lets them off the hook. (Glad you posted that… we both see the same thing there.)

I posted two articles above from January 21, 2021 - both by Kyle Meinke at Mlive
Both articles seem to praise Dan and the knee-cap press conference. Dan said last week that he “has receipts” and was waiting for the right time to call out his doubters, and my initial reaction to this comment is Dan cashing in a receipt but to a mistaken identity. Obviously there could be something else, an off the record conversation or comment by Kyle, but I think Dan is full emotion post-game…and this comment just slipped out of emotion.
