Can Lions Keep Both Taylor Decker, Alim McNeill?

I wonder if it makes more sense to cross-train him at SAM? In a 4-3 look he’d be much more close to the line of scrimmage.

Sewell is not only better than decker, he may literally be the best ever to do it.

T-Deck is very good. He’s not Sewell. Not by a long shot. Watch his new contract, then compare it to Sewells

No we dont want to train a 190lb db at SAM… yes he can tackle like a mad man. But nickle is already enough hybrid lb like db for a smaller guy. IMO

If we’re in a 4-3 defense against 12 personnel, and a TE steps into the slot pre-snap, who do want to slip into nickel coverage?

Does it depend on the TE?

Of course it is conjecture.
Just as what you are doing is conjecture:
“Branch will most likely always remain in the slot when 5 dbs are on the field. This is our base formation. When there are only 4 dbs on the field then he will move to safety to stay on the field.”

This is my thought as well.

But Iffy is a free agent and the coaching staff has repeatedly stated that they want to get Branch in at Safety.
Holmes has over indulged at CB with more starting level CB’s (Davis, Arnold, Robertson, Moseley, Rakestraw) than positions available, while he totally ignored the lack of starting level depth at Safety.

Yes it is conjecture but that is what we do on sites like this.
