Can someone explain Gibbs getting only 14 carries?

Because I’m absolutely baffled by it.

When playing a Washington team that struggled against the run.

When Gibbs just showed how explosive he could be after getting over 35 touches against Minnesota in Week 18.

When they desperately needed offense to make up for their poor defense.

None of it makes any sense. At all.

He was gashing them. We went away from it. Should have been 14-3, My biggest regret from yesterday.

Inexplicable. Starting a player coming off a serious injury over the NFC Offensive Player of the Month?

Coaching malpractice.

We were keeping Gibbs fresh for the conference championship game.

You hear people say BJ gets cute. That’s the only thing I can think of. I get the idea that they don’t want Gibbs being a 300 carry back or else he is going to have a short career. But this is the playoff. Him getting 20-25 carries in the playoffs isn’t a 17 game schedule. I am always positive and pro-team. Even I don’t understand the empty set shotgun on 3rd and 1 when your superstar back is literally carrying the ball for 10 yards a ■■■■■■■ clip.

Because we really needed to throw Washington for a loop by going empty backfield with a statue at qb. You could tell how confused they were.

Ben Johnson…

Games like yesterday is the reason why I don’t think Ben is ready to be a HC. Gibbs should have got the ball 25-30 times.

Ben Johnson was doing more interviews for head coaching jobs than trying to win a game. Gibbs could have had 300 yards of offense himself last night.

More like Ben Dover last night.

Gibbs was in either Johnson’s or Campbell’s doghouse.

That’s the only explanation that makes sense. Any other explanation is worse for the coaching staff.

It makes no sense to start Montgomery and run him out there on the first series that results in a 3 and out.

We scored 31 points despite a bunch of turnovers, and you guys are going ham on Ben?

Okay.

Why does he get a pass for the turnovers. IMO two of the turnovers were directly the result of Ben’s decisions.

The offense netted 24 points when you include the pick six. The turned it over 4 times (discarding the meaningless garbage time one). This was a bad offensive performance given our talent in that side of the ball and the defense we were up against. Kind of surprised that’s even being debated.

I think there is some bitterness being misdirected. Sorry.

I’ll be honest, I’m surprised Jared Goff isn’t getting more heat for that game. I see people going after Dan, Aaron, and Ben very harshly but holy cow Jared Goff bombed when we really really needed him to step up.

Part of it was that I believe Jared Goff was concussed or at least not right after that hit on the pick 6.

Part of it was that Dan and Ben put Jared Goff in a position to have to play the hero when it’s a known fact that it’s not his game.

Part of it is we know we’re stuck with Jared Goff because of the contract extension and the fact that the guy who was supposed to compete / push Jared Goff to be better was deemed not good enough to be the backup in a postseason game and instead a washed up Teddy Bridgewater entered the game.

14 carries for Gibbs is criminal given the matchup.

Bye Ben.

Damn that’s depressing. And prime Teddy Bridgewater was like a high end backup at best.

I blame the coaching from Dan down to the coordinators. We had two weeks to prepare for this game and simply showed we weren’t - from the start.

Amazing game plan against the Vikings. But nothing yesterday.

I knew the first play of the game would be to Montgomery. And I was okay with that. But then the second play? 3 and out!!!

Ben Johnson tried to get too cute with. And AG defense…great against the Vikes, but not last night. Yes, Amik going out hurt…but…

And that hit on Goff, end of 1st half!? Had to have been concussed. Can’t believe no call on that. So I give Goff a pass on his 2nd half miscues.

BJ and AG are not getting head coaching jobs in my book.
