A guy who helped me start this site in 1998 reached out to me on LinkedIn a few days ago to congratulate me on Detroit’s win. He ran a site called “Buc News” (defunct), but taught me about domains, HTML, etc., all the introductory stuff. Even taught me to turn my parent’s computer into a server (unbeknownst to them). Pretty cool to be in touch 25 years later.
Did you see/hear their stadium right after the win last Monday? Half empty and quiet as a could be. If you didn’t watch the game, you’d think they’d just been bounced. It really shocked me. Completely 180 from FF on Sunday. Guess there’s just not a ton of passion there.
Could be. And I don’t necessarily think he’s wrong. But it also is largely irrelevant — of course we are confident. We are drunk on excitement—for the very reason he points out.
Expecting Lions fans to be rational right now is an impossible order. And I’m here for it.
Also for the game… it has 0 impact how confident fans are, do we not see nfl fans overconfident all the time? It seems to be a pretty common ailment across the league. Hell here in washington state a few years ago the radio guys were on air saying “i dont see how.the seahawks even lose a game this year”
