CFB Playoffs Semi-Finals: ND/PSU TX/OSU

Well seeding was awful. Need to reseed between rounds and auto bye was dumb

I love it. Traditional programs that haven’t been in the NC picture in a while, brings me back to the Good Old days.

LOL
So three of the programs I can’t stand are in the final four, only way it could be worse if MSU was there, thankfully no chance of that happening soon.

At this point probably rooting for the B1G.

I predict Notre Dame and OSU in the final.

Notre Dame will try to out-physical Ohio State. It won’t work though. OSU is too fast for them and if they just stick to their game plan, which is to use speed and make you chase them, then OSU blows the doors off Notre Dame. Now if Day lets anything Lou Holtz may say prior to a potential NCG and goes away from his team strengths to try and prove they are tough and match them physically that gives Notre Dame a chance. Riley Leonard can’t be Notre Dame’s leading rusher…it has to be Love followed by Price. We know Leonard is not a great passer so they have to run the football.

The thing that most concerns me about Notre Dame is their ability to play man coverage. Jeremiah Smith should be able to win one on one, but we said the same exact thing about Marvin Harrison last year and Benjamin Morrison locked him up. Now, that was when we had Kyle McCord at QB, and I know Morrison wouldn’t be playing in that game this time around, but the other guys aren’t slouches either. I’m worried about the physicality of their front 7 to do the same thing Michigan did and Tennessee was said to to, which is beat up on our depleted OL. That unit has performed WAY beyond expectation to this point, and I hope I’m wrong, but they seem due for a bit of regression.

Penn State I’m sure would have plenty of tricks for us if we played again too. That means we would’ve been probably one or two plays away from losing to both PSU and ND the last time we played them, with many of those same players playing again in a potential natty.

I think we learn a lot about Franklin and PSU in this next round vs Texas. To this point, imo, they have had the easiest road to the semi’s.
I’m not sure who will win as I have questions on both teams.

I think there is a lot of truth to that as far as parity, but I think the death of Georgia is greatly exaggerated.

I agree 100% that it has led to parity more than the death of any one team.

It only takes one.

PSU plays Notre Dame

Oops, lol.

So, switch Texas to ND.

Anyone else find it funny that in the first year of extended nc series all 4 of the lower seeds won… that Alabama still missed out… and also lost to Michigan. So if ohio st vs penn st happens and ohio st wins… does michigan have bragging rights?

On this board? Yes lol

So, which final four has stronger teams

  • 2024/2025: PSU ND TX OSU
  • 2023/2024: AL TX OR UM
