Not a lot of big name matchups this week see if there are any big upsets. And I keep waiting for UM to lose as they are not worthy of their ranking in my opinion.
MSU vs Oregon still getting used to this new B1G
UM vs WA title rematch with two very very different teams. Still waiting for Orji to look like a competent QB.
Missouri vs TX AM could be a good one
Auburn vs GA has had some classics in the past how will UGA rebound to the Alabama loss?
Ole Miss vs South Carolina
Iowa vs OSU
Clemson vs FSU just doesn’t have the appeal it used too.
WVU vs OKSt
Syracuse @ UNLV tonight is pretty interesting. Who saw UNLV as the center of the college football universe for a couple of weeks? And they’re legit fighting for a playoff berth.
As much as I love watching them lose I have my doubts it happens outside of OSU at this point. They are just going to get better and better as the season progresses. They were super young and lost a metric ton of players to the NFL but they have equally talented dudes that just need time. Expect ugly win after ugly win. They have 100% figured out how to win. And I had hoped Hairball took that knowledge with him to the NFL and left UM in desolation. But they are building it back up.
I will agree that I find their inability to actually throw a forward pass hilarious but it also proves that defense and a run game can win and win big.
I think they end up with 3-4 losses overall, wouldn’t be shocked at 5.
Texas
Oregon
OSU
and one other somewhere as the lack of a passing game with Orji will bite them in the ass at some point.
And I completely understand on wanting UM to lose.
I thoroughly enjoy MSU losing, even when expected, it’s enjoyable. Same for Izzo.
I need to see Oregon play MSU this weekend before I think they will beat UM.
I just think that the team as a whole has figured out how to win. They remind me of the UM teams of the 80s and 90s that would just stack up wins. I liken it to the Lions now or MSU under Coach D (the winning years). Teams often just figure it out or create a culture that just believes they are going to win regardless of it making any sense.
The fact that UM has virtually no passing attack for really the last 3-4 years and yet they are boat racing teams and college football is insane and makes me unable to discount Hairball as a really really good football coach. So I am not even sure OSU beats them as OSU under Day has seemingly lost that Urban swagger. Do not be surprised if UM just beats the piss out of them again. Belief can make teams and people do crazy things.
And the Texas loss IMO was just an early season issue. That game played maybe week 8 or 9 is a completely different game.
You are just protecting your own expectations with that 3-4 to 5 loss non sense. The USC game convinced me that they may not lose again. Not because USC is any good. But because UM is starting to get the trenches figured out and as they build on that and the timing of the run game they will be a tougher and tougher out.
Well Harbaugh was a really good coach long before he came to UM so no reason to doubt him based on his three prior head coaching results.
Difference last two years was UM had a QB who could deliver on third and long with the pass. While they may not have passed much when they needed to JJ delivered on numerous occasions. Now, they don’t have that, good coaches will figure out how to slow them down allowing for a couple of losses not expected.
I had them down for 3 losses preseason and based on what I have seen have added one or two to it. Not really protecting anything, I have long stated that my view of UM is different than most of my UM friends other fans. Basically they are a good to above good team with a year or two of greatness here and there mostly 9wins occasional 10/11 wins. Which is what they have been until the last couple of years.
