Chain Restaurants Are at an All Time Low

Hello, pharmacist here.

As usual, do not consider anything I share explicit medical advice. Consult your vet (who might tell you not to do this)

If my google-foo is true, the blood thinner your cat is likely to be getting can be crushed. Consider powdering her pills and diluting them into a liquid you can either administer through an oral syringe or mix with her food. The more dilute the medicine, the more accurate the dosing (but also the larger the volume, so there is a trade off)

and yes, veterinary medicine is an awful money grab that plays on your guilt. took my dog for emergency care a few years back and beyond the bill they also tried to sell me medicines that I could purchase over the counter for 1/100th the cost

Thanks for the tip. Yes we do crush it up and put it in her food. Trust me, Zoey wouldn’t allow us to shove anything down her gullet. She’s always been a very thin cat, weighing less than 5 lbs. But since she’s been on the thyroid meds she’s packed on almost 2 lbs. We also found Chewy offers this med at about 15% of the cost at the vet. They didn’t seem to want to send in the script but eventually they did. I’m sure it was tough for them to give up that cash cow.

Yeah, that’s another trick. Ask for the prescription and take it to your local chain pharmacy, you can often use Rx discount cards and will typically pay a fraction of their charges, even for Rx only meds

In the food industry it all starts at the top in those situations. You have corporate people that have never really worked in the industry. They always start cutting corners in the kitchens in the form of labor or prepared products. Chefs start buying in pre made products instead of making them in house. Quality suffers because the standards are lower from good to good enough. There is also a shortage of talented line cooks. Nobody wants to do this job anymore because it’s at the bottom of the wage scale.

Just bought two 5 Oz filet for 17 bucks today. Wife and I had date night yesterday. Went to Logan. They wanted 29.99 for 7 Oz filet. Are you kidding me. Do we split the chili lime salmon instead. We dont eat full means so split 90 percent of the time

I went to a Ruth Chris once only because a vendor was paying. I have no idea who that appeals to. Waiter might as well have worn a strap-on. Fine dining they call it

My brother-in-law retired from owning his own vet practice about 15 years ago. He told me he sold about $800,000 worth of medication during one of his last years.
