Ok John is gone now it is Sheps turn. We need a new coaching staff that has the ability to change and nake adjustments as the game progresses.
I think Dan will hold onto Shep.
The defensive game planning and playcalling absolutely need to be improved. One could argue that the whole scheme should be changed, though I don’t know enough one way or the other there.
If Dan believes it’s “just” the first two, I can imagine a scenario where he gets Shep some help, but keeps him as DC.
I also wouldn’t be shocked if he gets a new DC.
Either way, I’m confident that Dan is in the best position to make that call.
Shep did a great job. The Dline was hampered straight out of the gate. Then the secondary was decimated.
He was using PS players the last 2/3 of the season.
I’m not sure what some of you expect from a first year DC?
Shep is not the problem.
And between his own self reflection and the coaches around him, he will be better this next season period
Yeah, I think I’m more on this side. The D was BAD the back half of the year, but I truly believe Kerby is that important to the success. He’s the “eraser”. So I’m all in on another season for Shep. But, I’m very bias in my love for the person.
It is very concerning that it looks like the Lions might hang onto Shep. He did such a horrible job and the Lions can do so much better. Imagine the Lions hiring Mike McDaniel on one side of the ball with Shep on the other side as DC. A genius on offense and a guy who shouldn’t even be a position coach in the other side.
You are literally pissing the season away before it starts if you stick with Shep.
They will if there’s no one better is available. Isn’t that the way it should work? Is either Brian Flores or Vic Fangio offering their services?
We gave up 24 or more points in 4 of our first 6 games.
That is a little misleading though.
I think we were all pleased with the Baltimore performance. KC was a game in which we were incredibly hobbled on the back end and Cincinatti was mostly garbage time production.
I thought Kelvin and the defense’s performance was fine the first half of the year.
If we could have an absolute perfect offseason in terms of coaches, I’d take McDaniel as OC and Flores as DC. That would basically be what Philly did with getting Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio, which sent them to a Super Bowl.
I doubt it happens, but that would be my pie in the sky scenario.
