Colby Sorsdal

Dude is still playing well at age 36 or 37.

Dan just said Nelson needs surgury and is being shut down…

Skorsdal didnt play terrible considering all of his reps have been at guard. He wasnt great but we have seen a lot worse here.

I’ve been saying that he would be the guard/tackle swing for 2 months.
He played tackle at a very high level at William and Mary.
He’ll be fine at RT or RG in the NFL. He just needs to adjust to the speed of the game.

If there is one place I’m not worried about the Big Cheese performing, it’s Green Bay.

It is interesting.
In udfa msrket Lions had been using up the signing bonus cap to get tackle oline prospects ( Lucas , pops , Eze )

Some oline draft guru said CS will be real deal. I felt like lions were running a lot to that side during the game.

The Lions adjusted to help Sorsdal they used TE an RB to chip to help him He did ok over all for limited practice time at OT

With Nelson out an Skipper likely limited with sore hammy. Its expected Decker will be back so to start OT is ok. I remember some posters wanting to trade decker this past year an wanting to let him walk when contract is up. Maybe now you will see the value of having a very good OT an always look to add more.

I would an hope Lions start to give more work to rookie OT from camp who we kept on PS Galvin Connor

I was glad to see the young man get some PT and us still get the win.

I am guessing you were not a part of the back and forth ā€œdebates.ā€ The concept wasn’t about letting Decker walk at the end of his contract. It was about trading Decker immediately (or in Sewell’s 2nd season) because RTs are cheap and its stupid to take a RT in the top 10 of the draft.

He’s sexy and he knows it. Ok I may have just thrown up in my mouth a little.

Just wanted to bring up the fact that we also have OT Max Pircher on the PS, and while there is a perception that he is simply a free body on the practice squad roster, there’s also an article out there from the Rams that describes him as a plus prospect that they allowed to get away. By all accounts, he’s a very good athlete who has spent the past several years developing as a Tackle. Just a little nugget to keep in mind. Galvin or Pircher could both be elevated from the Practice Squad, so there are additional options.

So was Jeff Backus and he was taken for granted his entire career by Lion fans.

Let’s be honest here. He’s really just soft, mild cheddar.

Backup was reliable and dependable, he wasn’t very solid. He was average. But a lot of value in being average dependable all the time.

That’s my opinion.

But to your point, yes he was undervalued here.

Because Hutchinson his teammate was all
Pro 1 pick before us.

And also,

Have to disagree. You don’t play 11 years by just being average. Not at left tackle on top of it.

Yeah he has had ~4 years to develop on the Rams and Lions. Hasn’t sniffed the field yet so I wonder if there is anything there.

We shall see soon if the Lions elevate or find another free agent out there.

I was surprised to see skipper because he was on the team last year but didn’t make the practice squad so it felt like the lions were scraping the bottom of the barrel as it was.

Kid will be a player at RT tackle when he gets stronger. Yes he can play guard; however not sure if that’s where he will thrive imo
