College basketball is dead

That is on the program not on NIL. Arizona was just over 10m inn NIL last year.

Who cares? Michigan is awesome. As a fan of the team who they pasted in the Final Four I want them to be as good as possible in the hopes we get a shot at some revenge. Won’t be easy though. Michigan is a great program with a great coach and a wealthy donor base.

Yep, those are operating budgets. This is the best sourced list I can find but it is limited and only includes tourney teams (sorry Indiana)

Louisville has to be up substantially for next year. 9m just for Shelstead and Bidunga combined.

.

Did you say Semi Pro??

Its not about who spent. Its f ing stupid. It cost a lot to just go to school these days. There needs to be rules. Or its going to get worse.

Relax. The dudes they signed are pretty big steps down from Maya and Johnson. Unless they take a big leap forward, this isn’t the same “purchased” Natty like last years’(if you’re so inclined to think that way).

The ratings were higher this year than they have been in years.

Anytime dudes our age don’t like something it must mean it’s dying despite all the information otherwise lol

Are there rules regarding how much money you can make?

What do you mean?

Nate you’re acting like kids haven’t been getting paid for years and years. Be it tattoos, cars, jobs for their parents, houses, bags of cash, girls, and whatever else they wanted. The only difference now is every school can do it legally. Are they getting payed too much? Yes, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s not a new thing.

Are you not complaining about people making money? Are you saying there should be rules about how much money they make? How very communist of you. Is anybody trying to limit the amount of money you make?

The rules were set a long time ago. Why should a college athlete make more then professional athlete. College education cost a ton these days.

Btw its not a Michigan thing its college sports in general. I plead two years ago on this.

How to be successful at sports: Step 1: draft/recruit the best players, pay for the best players
Step 2: Have a coach that can utilize and get the best out of these puzzle pieces.

Michigan happened to accomplish both steps, while most others are still only on step 1 or are hoping that their step 2 coach can overcome not doing step 1.

Michigan is the Dodgers and all the ‘blue bloods’ complaining are the Mets.

Dude you just started on this board. Ive said it sense the beginning.

And they have right to do it. My problem is leaving school because you want more money. There is zero love for schools that recruited you any more.

The portal is also a problem for me Marty. These schools are giving you a lot of money. There should be stiff penalties in breaking contracts. That’s how the real world works. The players basically have zero accountability.
