Colorado Rockies history in the making

They are making a strong push to be considered the worst team in MLB history by most matrices.

  1. Chicago White Sox set the modern day record of 121 losses last year. The Rockies are on pace to lose 134 games.

  2. The 1934 Red Sox hold the modern day record of largest run differential at -345. The Rockies through 51 games are on pace to be outscored by 501.

  3. Colorado is currently losing to the Yankees 13-1.

Hilarioius… Not sure how I should proceed. Few gummies become a Rockies superfan today or stick to the toads and Rockies world series win in 2047 :joy:

Yankees -2.5 runs today looks like easy money.

Good for them

I wish we had bylaws that forced owners to sell if their win percentage drops below a certain number over a set amount of years. Fans shouldn’t be forced to deal with the Dan Snyder of the world for as long as they did. Same with A’s fans. Us too with ford running the Lions.

So, At 9-45 through 54 games, the Rockies are on pace for 135 losses.

Will they reach 42 wins or 122 losses first?
What is the over under

In fairness if they were in any other division they might have 11 wins instead of 9 :joy:

So they have now lost 21 straight series dating back to last year. Not even a split. 21 straight.

In the Modern Era (since 1900), that distinction belongs to the 1961 Phillies, who lost 23 straight.

Almost there….

I mean forget pictures right? It really doesn’t matter what you do to develop them nobody can pitch in Colorado with any amount of success for more than a year maybe two tops and nobody has really ever had Elite level success there. That you can forgive it’s the heading prospects that continually take a giant crap when they get to Colorado is what is puzzling. Their development system must be terrible I wonder if David Chad went there

And yes Tovar so there’s one. Considering how high the draft they’ve been picking for years they’re yield is awful

Do they have anybody worth a damn to trade for.

Maybe rp jake bird might be the only one

Update.
On pace for a -506 run dif.
And 136 losses

Modern day i say is post WW2. Hell in pro sports id say post 1970. Either way.
Post ww2 and 1970 is the 2023 athletics at -339! For dif.

And if your going 1901 modern era. Id say you have to with win% not losses. Which the 1916 athletics hold at .235 (colorado at .161)

Post WW2 is 1962 mets at .250
Post 1970 is yes the 24 white socks at 0.253

So adjusted for the number of games. Worst in 1901 history.
Run diff -363
Losses 124

They wouldn’t trade Tovar, and I’m not sure I would even want him anyway, so no.

Tovar is basically peak Baez. I would take him in a hot second but they won’t be trading him and I’m probably not going to give up what they want for him anyways. I would give up Kevin McG and Hamm.

Tovar signed an 8-year 83 million dollar extension last year which to be honest is probably way below his value. I’d have to look at his defensive marks a little bit more but his batting profile is basically Javier Baez as a Chicago Cub
