Colts putting TE Eric Ebron on IR

His ankles are bothering him.

Good thing they caught that in time. I’d hate to see a drop in his production.

Wonder who will make the mistake of overpaying him this offseason. I don’t see him re-signing with the Colts now that Luck isn’t overfeeding him.

I wonder how many posters here were a little disappointed that this was clearly about his ankles and that there was no room for them to make a soft tissue joke.

Classic Ebron. I love how his hands somehow came together before the ball even got there.

Now do we get soft tissue jokes?

Wow, the inference in that article is not something you see often (almost never?)
Makes me wonder if he is bailing on them
Wowza …

For myself, he goes down as the worst pick ever in Detroit History. Him over Donald and OBJ.

Sorry. I have no love for Ebron, but he’s far from the worst pick. Sadly, this team has plenty. Mike Williams over DeMarcus Ware is deadly. (“far” meaning not nearly as bad, not that there’s a whole bunch worse, but I bet if we tried we could list another 10 that would be in contention)

I totally agree and I’ll expand why

There have been other busts in the Lions history but given team need, salary cap room and roster talent Ebron was the worst in the entire history of the Lions because taking Donald or OBJ definitely wins a playoff game even helps us make a run to the Superbowl.

Fairley goes down what 8 games into 2014, if Donald got all of Fairley snaps moving forward that year it taked a good defense to historic. You can let Suh walk and you aren’t trading for Ngata.

If Aaron Donald is on that 2014 team they make the NFC championship game at worst hell we might have been hosting it.

Same thing for OBJ. Dude is one of the best slant runners in NFL history so you could get away with Lombardi’s conservative ass offense. How many 5 yard slants has he taken to the house?

I still the fanbase is too hard on Ebron because he didn’t draft himself but he basically killed any chances of the Stafford Calvin Suh era having real success.

Other players were busts but Ebron was a bust when adding a difference maker would have directly lead to playoff success.

DeMarcus Ware over BMW probably still doesn’t move the needle enough to win a playoff game.

I do think 2014 was our chance at something special.

Wonder if somebody asked him to block or something.
