Commanders cut Emmanuel Forbes

From college? No… From NFL, ESPN, PFF and PFR? Yep

Got no weight in his ass, for one thing. He’s one NFL hit away from IR. Nice project, but, he’s not helping us this year

Those sources do not have a secret source for accurate up to date height/weight information. Roy Williams was 212 at the NFL combine but admitted his playing weight was closer to 235-240 lbs. He said he hadn’t played that light since his junior year of high school. In his best season, Mike Martz challenged him to get down to that range again. Roy did it for that season only. Yet during Roy’s entire career sources had his weight around 215.

Take those sources with a grain of salt. They don’t have any kind of secret information.

Another long-term project that will make the guy who loves BroMart and Manu happy for sure!

From August…

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/commanders-emmanuel-forbes-puts-on-17-pounds/amp/

Forbes told reporters last week that he gained 17 pounds in the offseason, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

If that’s accurate, it would mean Forbes’s weight has increased by about 10 percent since he checked in at 166 pounds at the 2023 Combine

A good analogy for Forbes be Alphonso Smith.

Great at getting picks, but nothing else. Blown coverages, missed tackles, and taking off plays were his forte.

In a different year without all the injuries he would be an interesting pick up.

He needs coaching and how to play the Lions way. No time now. We need vets who can plug holes, not more projects.

If he’d take a practice squad spot, sure. See if he can develop with better coaching. He has elite speed and is a playmaker. The other things can be coached.
But I still am not convinced the Lions will be interested, or that he’ll get through waivers.

Exactly. I’d love him on the PS. But we don’t have the luxury to roster him. He’d have to play teams and I just Donny see him doing that well.
