Good article. I’d say they’re both overpaid in my book. There has always been so much hype about Trevor Lawrence and so far he hasn’t lived up to it. I would say the one big difference in the contracts that they’re not pointing out is the 4 years vs 5 years. Just about the time Goff would finally be worth that contract is year 5 and we don’t have a year 5.
The Lions basically could have done a 2 year contract with a franchise tag and a repeat franchise tag for far less money and zero guarantees until the deadline for the franchise tag. Instead they did this 4 year deal. So it appears they did Goff a huge solid and perhaps it’s a message to the rest of the team. I’m not really sure what goes on in their discussions obviously.

I really don’t think Lawrence is anything special. I’ll admit I haven’t watched a lot of Jags games. But the 4 or 5 I have saw he looked pretty bad.
