Western Michigan guy, former top 10 pick at WR.
In his last year of deal, likely to get cut to make room for Rodgers and new WR (just like Elijah Moore)
Any idea what he’s worth? Any interest from us?
Cap hit 1 year 10 mil

I’m hoping we get Bridgewater, then save cap for emergency in season signings.
We’re in very good shape at WR.
Not what his cap hit is that’s what I know.
I think he is still on IR….
J/K…. he has missed 12 games in past 2 years though…
and seems to be on the injury report quite a bit.
I don’t see the Lions having a ton of interest.
Corey Davis was a top 10 pick who had no business going in the top 10. And his career shows it. And Elijah Moore wasn’t a perfectly good receiver that happened to be moved on to make room for someone else. He was a distruntled player who had dust ups with the team and publicly demanded a trade.
If we want to sign Corey Davis as a 1 year prove it deal guy who we expect 600 yards from and then move on, I am okay with it. But the price needs to match that expectation.
Yep they gonna trade that pick for Aaron Rodgers lol
Corey Davis…it would be interesting to see if he gets a shot some where with a decent passing offense. I agree we don’t have any room for him here it seems…
Where would he fit?
Giants?
DJ Chark, a Lion…he’s worth 3/33m easy. He is exactly what this team needs.
Corey Davis, not a Lion…this dudes injury prone, he shouldn’t command much so a one year prove it deal that isn’t too much is what he’s worth.
They are basically the same player who have put up similar production in their career.
This is right on par with Lions fans point of view on our guys vs others.
I honestly thought the same thing which is why I posted it !!
And I am guilty of it as well
Corey Davis had competent QB in Tennessee with a top notch play action game due to Henry… and he still never had a 1000 yard season. He has missed time almost every year… and also been on the injury report and limited quite often with soft tissue issues (get me a kleenex)…. while most of Chark’s missed time stems from an actual traumatic fracture of his ankle.
Considering that Chark needed another ankle procedure this year…
I am happy the Lions didn’t sign him.
Liked his ability…… but it seems the availability is continuing to be a problem.
We didn’t lnow that until recently in regards to another surgery.
Corey Davis just isn’t a very good WR… and he has the injury concerns on top of it. I think that is the difference.
Nope…it’s because he was a Lion. But we can come up with whatever reason we want to fit an argument.
Corey Davis played 2 seasons with Ryan Tannehill (which is hilarious to suggest that’s a good thing). In those two seasons Ryan Tannehill threw for a whopping 6500 yards (~230 yards a game) he missed 4 games during that span. He also only attempted ~27 passes per game…I wonder if anyone else attempted fewer throws per game (maybe the Ravens).
*AJ Brown smashed his season averages when he finally left Tennessee. It’s not a place that should ever be referenced as even decent for WRs to play.
His other 2 seasons played in Tennessee he played with Marcus Mariota. In his two seasons he combined for 5700 yards (~211 yards a game) missing 3 games during that span. He threw roughly ~29 attempts per game…also quite low.
The last two seasons he played with the JETS. Do I need to list those QBs as well?
If you want to call that good or a significant difference in QB or opportunity be my guest…but both dudes have had to deal with suspect QB play and or limited opportunity.
Chark missed 9 games in 3 seasons before his major ankle injury. Might as well get him some Kleenex while you’re at it too. He literally has missed games every single year. Davis also has more ypg (49.7 vs 47.1) and a better catch % (59.2 vs 55.8 which is awful btw) for his career…
If Corey Davis just isn’t very good, then neither is DJ Chark. Both are potential that never lived up to it. I can easily make an argument that Corey Davis is more talented than DJ Chark. But it would be a losing battle here because Corey Davis never wore a Lions uniform.
Utter beast in college, absolute monster.
NFL speed/size caught up to him. Plus hurt plus shit QBs.
He has more upside than Marvin, but Marvin is a higher floor, mostly due to availability and saavy.
If we didnt have Marvin, I’d want Corey though. There is still a middle of the league #2 WR in there. Certainly a big target #3.
I guess if he gets cut or we trade a late round pick /pick swap redo his deal. We could get him in and not have to even think about drafting a WR he’d be the #3 going forward …and gives you a some flexibility with Raymond/ Reynolds they are all about the same age and young
Does this mean you want Corey Davis?
When many thought Chark was the top priority to bring back and everyone was suggesting they’d pay 3/33 or more, I said I would rather just trade a day 3 pick for Corey Davis. Essentially a 1 year prove it deal ala Chark in 2022.
We added Marvin, I don’t care to add another veteran to the group now. I would like to add a WR in the draft though. Preferably a prototypical X like a Tillman on day 2 or a Landers on day 3.
So you don’t want Davis?
Can you read…I clearly state it in this response.
What am I suggesting here…you don’t attempt to actually have an intellectual debate with anyone. You are a loser who literally seeks out opportunity to be condescending, arrogant, and the coolest guy in the room.
I asked because it is not clear. Do you want Corey Davis or not?
I only want to bring him in if the price matches the expectation of a 600 yard receiver. Otherwise I am not interested.
READ!!! Drop the routine for once…
Let’s say that is hard to interpret, which it’s clear as day, why do you care what I want? The only reason you respond and then give that response after I clearly answered, is to be the guy I described.
Neither one of us want Corey Davis. Cool.
