Crystal Ball: How Might The Lions Game Cut-Down Day With Trades Or For Draft Picks?

Might some team envy our DL or LB fringe guys? Presume that Brad is holding his own beer. What might he explore?

Typically, they’re deals for 7th Rd picks (or conditional 7th Rd picks) at this stage of the process.

With all teams facing the new cutdown rules, there probably won’t be many trades. Instead of the staggered cutdown, it’s everybody all at once:

Teams must trim their active offseason rosters from 90 players down to 53 players by Sunday, August 30, at 6:00 p.m. ET

I didn’t know this. Thanks for the heads up. That’s just a couple days away.

Sunday.

I think the sudden versus the slow rollout of cut player won’t have much effect on good teams with a surplus of talent at one position. Say, the Lions at LB and the Rams at TE have decent players that will be cut. They are unlikely to find equivalent value at their thinner position by waiting their turn on the waiver wire, so they agree to a trade.

I don’t think time will be an impediment. I mean, Brad & Friends are scouting 24/7/365 except in leap years.
