Dan Campbell gives optimistic injury updates on LaPorta, Decker

Good news. I wasn’t as optimistic about LaPorta’s injury when I saw he was last to leave because he was getting X-Rays on his shoulder.

Very good news… Us being 8-1 with no more byes until hopefully the playoffs. Do not rush these guys. An extra week or 2 of rest is okay.

I am mildly concerned about LaPorta though… Seems like he exits every other game recently and missed most of training camp. Shoulder, knee, and ankle all in the past 10 months. Also a concussion if I remember right.

He’s going for the complete set.

After all, they’re only flesh wounds.

I think his numbers are down this season because he’s been hurt all year.

Yea love the kid… Hasn’t really looked the same running since he hurt his knee late last year right before the playoffs

Give him some rest asap

LaPorta at 100 percent in January is key

He’s was definitely playing hurt earlier in the season. Seemed to be running better lately. It’s a good sign if this latest one isn’t bad.

I think because they’re several options on every play.

You’re right.

This isn’t a team for divas because nobody is going to get mega individual stats at the end of the year.

Holmes has built a strong roster with good depth to weather these short term injuries.
Even if LaPorta can’t go Sunday Dan will have 3 TE’s (Wright, Zylstra, and Mitchell) with 3 years in the system.

My concern for this Sunday is with Decker.
He isn’t having a great year but the Lions could use him against the Jags edge rushers Walker and Hines-Allen.
I believe the Lions can beat Jacksonville without Decker but I don’t want Goff to take any hits that could ruin this great season.
There is not a lot of quality depth at Tackle.
