We got our ass kicked but if we don’t throw an INT in the red zone and Anzalone catches a gift INT that game would have been far different. Jordan Love tried to get us back in the game. We just didn’t take advantage of it. Those 2 plays were massive mistakes

I agree with Dan.
However, you don’t lose a premeir OC, Ragnow, Zeitler and replicate the top scoring offense. Possible, but not likely at all. Ben Johnson will be missed. The guy wasn’t a top hire candidate so people can shit and giggle.
This is the year the defense needs to live up to the hype. Pass rush still might be a issue at times. But will all the talent added at all 3 levels. This needs to be a top 10 scoring defense in points allowed. Ideally, closer to top 5. I was never a Glenn fan per se. I’m even more in limbo with Shep who’s a unknown. I thought this was the year to bring an experienced DC in who could utilize the talent. In a ideal world Shep does what Shula has been doing for the Rams of late.
This is a 10 win team. The oline and offense will improve as the year goes. Might not be true contenders this year. But missing the playoffs would be disappointing in my opinion.

Yeah I am not sure how anyone can feel like the Lions were almost gonna win that game.
I guess you could point to the fact that Goff did complete a shit ton of passes and the Qb and Receivers were executing……just executing 2 yard plays over and over.
I did not see winning football. Yes Bates was 2 for 2, but he also cost them with a ball into the endzone. Which GB promptly capitalized on that nice field position.
No position group or segment of the team looked like they were ready. GB came out and kikced the crap out of the Lions. And in the 2nd half it felt like GB just put it on ice and said unless you show me you can score a TD I am just going to burn clock and keep it simple.

I just said we got our ass kicked Mouse. Lol but 2 massive turnovers change games. Those 2 plays cost us at least 6 points maybe 14.

Not reaching for positives at all. I’m saying we made 2 horrible plays that would have changed the game. That’s not positive. That’s us shooting ourselves in the foot. Kinda like the playoffs last year.

The only real positive in this one was that our defensive line was dominant vs the run. Poor pass d, pass rush, rushing, passing. Goff looks fine on the stat sheet, but I haven’t seen so many check downs since we brought in Daunte Culpepper to compete with rookie Stafford. Brutal.
Packers were flying around while we were shell shocked.

Sorry Dan, I love you, but this team got their asses whipped yesterday. I’m not even going to try and throw around excuses. It was just awful. Brought me back to the rough days of being a Lions fan. I hope that they can get this ship turned around. Probably wasn’t a good idea to sit them all preseason either. If you have two coaches, new lines, I just don’t understand them not getting some time together. It’s a long season. Let’s hope there’s growth.
