This is true, I was going to post the same thing. I remember there was an old youtube video that was like a sports science video. They were doing a fun comparison of who is more accurate, a quarterback and an archer. The quarterback was Drew Brees. Brees killed the olympic archer in an accuracy competition. In the video, it talks about Brees passes being thrown with a little bit of wobble. Brees explains that you do that to make the passes drift further. A perfect spiral ball will begin dipping immediately off of the hand. A ball with a little wobble will help it carry further and be more accurate, especially on long downfield throws.
The catch of course is controlling the wobble, and not throwing a pass that carries further than you want.
