Surely, this had to be picked up by somebody’s mic. What do you think coach was saying?
It didn’t look to me like he yelled at him.
You can clearly see he’s coaching him and telling him you can’t do that.
Dans very animated and that’s all your seeing here.
If there was no jawing and a flag was thrown for spinning the ball on an important 1st down catch, both those so called refs need to be released by the NFL as frauds called refs!
It was absolutely a weak call. I’ve seen plenty of receivers do half as much and not get called. Call it the Clete Bakeman effect.
I agree. Yesterday felt like Jamo’s first complete game as a Lion. And I couldn’t even see what caused the penalty. I figured he said something in passing.
The funniest part of the exchange is Randle El in the background nervously clapping his hands like a mother concerned for how bad the dad is tearing into their child.
The NFL has the hots for Jamo and Branch.
The Lions must think that Jamo responds better to positive criticism. Just something I’ve noticed.
So do I
I have the hots for the NFL.
I did not really feel like he was yelling - more like controlled fussing.
So was that pass 60 yards in the air or at least 55 yards?
Who said Goff doesn’t have some arm talent?
If the ball hits the ground on the trajectory it was heading, you’re looking at about 59 air yards. Where it was caught was about 56 air yards.
And, due to the speed, timing and depth, he had to flatten that out a bit. Not Stafford flat, but not a Wilson moon-ball either. He can hit 60+ yards when he can get a little more air under it.
It was wobbly though.
Little bit. Not quite a duck. Let’s call it a turkey… a Flutterball to be specific. LOL
Sometimes Goff throws a nice spiral and other times it has a wobble to it.
A wobble is usually a result of poor mechanics or lack of arm strength.
Personally I think it’s mechanics, mainly footwork with Goff. I’ve noticed when he has a clean pocket and can step into the throw, the ball has a tight spiral and is more accurate. When he can’t plant his feet properly and is forced to throw off platform that’s when you see the wobbly pass. A wobbly pass loses velocity, accuracy and that’s when mistakes happen.
My point is that it’s important to give Goff a clean pocket. If you do he will tear the opponent apart.
I come from the school of thought that a wobble is not necessarily a flaw. That’s not to say all wobbly passes are good, rather it is to say that not all wobbly passes are incorrectly thrown. It has to do with a QB’s release. With a QB that can dial up multiple speeds and trajectories like Goff, there will be varied spirals as well.
He’s definitely a pocket-passer.
