Bronny James syndrome
It can be very difficult to flip a switch on humility when youâve been raised to be arrogant for the first 22 years of your life.
If they purged the league of arrogance, who all would be left?
Yeah, the dad coaching him his entire football career is super weird to me. I can see how that would put a GM off. Then he walks into pre-draft interviews and you get comments from scouts like " he makes you feel like your beneath him". He sounds so toxic. That said, I always root for a redemption story.
Yea I canât imagine the level of distraction Cleveland is going to deal with getting involved with the Sanders family. Good thing they have a strong quarterback room and a rich tradition of excellent quarterback play to lean onâŚ
Having thought more about this Shedeur situation⌠Iâd love to know how Manziel was drafted where he was vs Shedeur.
Shedeur couldâve shit on a desk during an interview and had less red flags than Manziel.
Thatâs easy. Unlike Shadeur Sanders, Johnny Manziel was a winner in college football.
Shadeur did worse. He shit all over teams, the people working for them and told teams he was coming to change their culture or donât draft him. After teams got to see what he was all about, himself, you canât blame the teams for listening.
The person I feel bad for? The guy who was drafted number 1 overall, who teams actually wanted and he earned that spot, then had Shadeur clips being played over his draft entrance. I also feel bad for the 8 players drafted after Shaduer who on both networks, you wouldnât even know were drafted because Deion mouthpieces Bitch Eisen and who the hell is Mel Kiper anyways had to turn the draft into all about one player. That IS exactly why no team wanted Shaduer.
If I was sitting next to Kiper, I would have taken a drink out of this every time he started on a Shedeur rant.
Itâs interesting because Shedeur is the opposite of Manziel in alot of ways. Shedeur actually puts the work in. He can read defenses. He has an extremely high football IQ, he doesnât rely on backyard football like Manziel he plays precision football. He doesnât party like Johnny.
Manziel was just a guy who was born to be really good at football. He never had to put in the work in order to be successful and that just doesnât fly at the NFL level. Although Shedeur comes from privilege he has had to scratch and claw in order to be successful as he is not blessed with the best natural tools. He has a real chance to be a quality NFL starter IMO.
It wonât take Shedeur long to seize control of the starting job in Cleveland.
Flacco
Watson (I donât think he plays another snap for them)
Pickett
Gabriel
The cream always rises to the top and he is better than all of these QBs already.

What did Manziel win??
Not buying it.
NFL teams knew he was a coke addict and picked him anyway.
Iâm sorry, but you canât just say, âYeah, but he was a winnerâ (he wasnât).
Shedeur is a better QB and had less problems than Manziel, and he still went in the first round. None of those things should be debatable.
I just want to add that Shedeur obviously shot himself in the foot and his ego led to his plummet. Iâm just making the point that we clearly have two different standards for each player.
I agree with a few of your points, and posted these in other threads. What Shedeur actually is, is a coachâs son. He has solid fundamentals and mechanics, he knows what defenses are doing.
As you said, Shedeur is not that gifted athletically, and here is the biggest reason he was never going to be a first rounder. He has a weak arm. Shedeur is a lot more Kellen Moore than a Tua type guy. He has to throw to spots and counts on his WRâs to bail him out. Look at most of Shedeurâs highlights, and its Travis Hunter or Jimmy Horn bailing him out. Hunterâs best catches came due to poorly thrown or located balls. Hunter carried the hell out of Shedeur, and teams all saw that.
If we want to look at Manziel vs Shedeur in college, keep this in mind. Johnny Manziel won the Heisman, as a freshman. No one had ever done that. Manziel had signature wins, including against elite competition. Remember the game in 2012 when Manziel beat number 1 Alabama, in Bama? Manziel accounted for 345 of 418 yards of total offense. Manziel played in the best conference in college football and still set records.
Shedeurâs college resume is not even close. Shedeurâs biggest âstatementâ win was beating #17 TCU last season. That TCU team was coming off a National Championship game, but everyone knew they were decimated by the draft and were starting a brand new team. People knew they were taking a step back, but didnât know how much. That âsignature winâ came against a team that finished 5-7 and 10th in the Big 12. That season, Shedeur started 3-0 vs weak competition, then they got crushed the rest of the year and finished 4-8. Yes, it was a transition year. So letâs go to this season. Colorado does go 9-4 as Deion brings in more kids to prop up his son, but what is the signature win? Barely beating ND State, a DII team? Then losing, badly, to discount Patrick Mahomes? Colorado played a total cake schedule, and STILL lost to both Kansas teams, neither of which was good at football this year.
So youâve got a Heisman winner whose beatedn #1 ranked teams, and had the best coach in college football Nick Saban talk about what a pain in the ass he is to defend. Then you have Shedeur Sanders who finished 8th in Heisman winning in his best year and many people all believe that in itself was a joke.
Itâs not a contest. Put Shedeur in the SEC, and he doesnât win 4 games period.

Manziel was a KNOWN coke head. What are we talking about right now.

NFL teams knew he was a coke addict and picked him anyway.
NFL teams will draft murderers, rapists, drug addicts, headcases and whatever else, IF YOU HAVE TALENT. We can all name examples of each of the above. They will not draft guys that are headcases and have weak talent.
Shedeur has marginal talent and he holds onto the ball too long, he makes last seconds throws that wonât work in the NFL because players donât get wide open like that.
Sure Manziel had more personal demons, that is obvious. But he didnât quite have the smug feeling of superiority that Shedeur does. And you can feel sorry for a junkie, lot harder to do for a smug a-hole. But the main difference is people thought they saw Mahomes in Manziel, which he wasnât, but they thought they saw it, same reason the Bears f-ed up and took Caleb.

I canât believe what I just read.
âŚ
Literally, he was known as a smug asshole by the entire league.

At this point, you are just ignoring facts because you want to believe there is some grand conspiracy against Sheduer. Find me any youtube video or game film where Shedeur shows he is a better quarterback than Johnny Manziel was. Iâll wait.
