Yall are letting your love for Williams cloud your judgment. Do i love Williams? Yes i do. Montgomery is a wayyy more talented back. Hes been really good behind a below average bears offensive line. Imagine what he can do behind this offensive line!!

This doesn’t make sense. Unless Jamaal is getting massively overpaid somewhere else or just didn’t want to be here, why not pony this up for him? Montgomery is probably a better back but Jamaal was perfect for this culture. I’m conflicted

The contract is fine. It’s 6m/yr, not a cap crippler by any means. He’s only 25.
From a football standpoint this is likely an upgrade but from a feelings standpoint, it hurts.

Don’t watch the Bears but it would seem playing with Fields you should average more than 4 yards per carry since he’s going to draw all the attention. And Herbert average 5.7 yards per carry.
