David Montgomery to Detroit goodbye jamaal

Ok it goes like this… when David Montgomery came out he was touted as the next very very good complete RB all 3 downs from the state of Iowa, just like David Johnson (that arizona lucked into because we drafted Ameer Abdullah, I was pounding the table for Tevin Colemant)

Receving stats David Johnson a lot
David Montgomery quite a bit

Jordan Howard 0

If you want Jordan Howard, draft the McBride kid from UAB in round 5 just like Jordan Howard.

This may not be the appropriate thread, but is anyone elses dick hard?

100% - Ben’s creative powers just got more unleashed more than they were.
Offense is less one-dimensional

Great point, bruh!

Interesting year…. I encourage Thats2, Curious, and anyone who truly watches some of these prospects to chime in, and I will gladly be wrong….

I love football, played at a fairly high level, coached, and watch more than my share…. I’d be lying if I said I watched any particular CB outside of Michigan games, Witherspoon, Ringo, Porter etc.

When we talk about a “deep class” I struggle to process what that means. Just a few months ago it was Ringo, Cam Smith, Porter, Gonzalez, Phillips, Forbes, and Witherspoon on most mock draft a d big boards.

Since January we’ve seen Ringo and Cam picked apart (I’ve hated on Cam for months btw). Suddenly Witherspoon climbed, and Banks came out of now where as top 20 picks?

Forbes was too light by a light… G Williams injury, but also his tape….

Bottom line- outside of Gonzalez, Witherspoon and maybe Porter… which guys do you all see as 17 game starters next year? Better than Sutton or even Okudah?

that is the key reason why he is good signing He is a good Runner but now we have a passing target on early downs so that treat is now there even if sift is getting breather. he runs hard an similar to Williams but I think little stronger an better receiver. I Like Williams just thought this was better idea but thought Bears would have paid a lot more.

Everything I’m reading is Montgomery was a leader in Chicago’s lockerroom. Hopefully he provides a lot of what JW did in that regard.

if thats true, atleast thats some energy hes bringing here

just sucks to lose such a fan favourite, but its for understandable reasons.

To piggyback…. Montgomery is a battle tested solid NFL RB who can block, catch and run without much help around him….

I am a top 5 member of the Bijan fan club, but this move makes me okay passing on him. It got me to thinking about when I’d go RB now…

Many acted like we could pass on signing Swaggy, and pluck a star off the RB tree in this “deep class.”

Achane or Tucker- one dimensional small speed backs

Tank or McIntosh- tested rather poorly…?

Evans and Mitchell were tiny too…

Charbonnett, Gibbs, Brown? Maybe Spears?

I only ask because a Montgomery and a 5th round back while keeping Swift gives us a helluva RB next year.

Read articles projecting his contract. It was out there that 10-12M per was possible.

If he got Commish deal, and Commish got this deal we’d be going NUTS!

so do note its 11m guarantee

Likely front loaded im guessing

Howard had 568 yards receiving in 3 years with the Bears and about 3,400 yards rushing.
DM had about 2,900 yards rushing and about 925 yards receiving in his first 3 years with the Bears.

TOTAL is 3,968 yards for Howard and 3,825 yards for DM.

You need to do your homework.

Watching that highlight video, our team run blocks so much better than the Bears!

This confirms that we are definitely bringing in Jack Campbell, since we gave Scottie Montgomery this signing.

Young back who’s a STRONG runner, very shifty and has enough burst for a big play… Obviously a better pass catcher than Williams… This is an upgrade!

Behind the Bears’ OLine, it more than likely means that he made guys miss behind the LOS to gain positive yards. Which would be extremely welcome here in the D.

He was really fun to watch at Iowa State.
