Yes. Physical traits.
There are D2 QB’s that put up all kinds of crazy stats against that competition.
And he only did it one year.
He was a big gamble on NFL coach thinking he can coach up a kid with impressive physical traits.
Lions are doing it with BroMart & Manu.
SF did it with Three 1st rd picks.
We’re in the meat of this draft, according to most who’ve looked closely.
So it wouldn’t be crazy to think the Lions could make 3 picks on day 2 by moving up and burning some day 3 picks, and potentially a pick from next year.
I just can’t see Brad sitting and picking at 60 and 102. Not a chance.
No way. He’s got that look we’ve seen on the Inside The Den episodes, using hand-motions to reflect how the board is stacking up. They’re onto another player OR that wasn’t post-pick coverage, instead it would have been pre-pick tape cued up by the network.
Sure, happens every day, In fact you could probably find one every year that threw for over 20 with no int’s. I’m well aware of who he was and my opinion was he was over rated. He threw the ball over 287 times in one season with no int’s but IYO that only means he had good physical traits. Eh, I’m done.
Could it be they are at the been there, done that act like you’ve been there before stage of their draft reactions? Maybe the days of desk pounding are gone and they’ve grown out of it.
My point is if Trey Lance put up those same numbers for only one season BUT was 6’1, 210 lbs, with an avg. arm, and athleticism (like Sanders), No NFL team would have used three 1st rd picks to trade up to draft him.
