Hutch is VERY good. Gets a lot of pressures. But doesnāt get the sacks why? Because theres no one else.
Aliem is good. But hes not elite to draw a double team. So what teams do is double team and chip hutch.
Buggs/ jones are bench level DTs.
Then no one on the other side was a true solid starter.
Now they have reader and some one on the other side will step up.
But if they continue to grow.
Aliem will get a 25-30m contract AAV
Hutch $30-35m aav.
I dont think they will be able to afford both but you never know.
You need to refresh your mind roster. Jones plays for Miami an Buggs is in jail. What they were means nothing now. Before you predict how Decker 's contract breaks down wait an see it can have void years lots of ways they can work the money the Guaranteed is the important amount an how spread out.

I was saying Hutch is better than what the stats tell us because he has had virtually no good help in his career so far.

3 Davenport - at least an AVERAGE DE.
Thats leagues better than anything the lions have had next to hutch.
Hutch will be elite this year.
As for the contract i agree totally. Especially with that low guaranteed amount. I bet theres very little guaranteed in 2026 and 2027. Meaning they could cut bate whenever after that or if he retires it wont hurt the team.
But i agree i believe there will definitely be some void years. But 20ā aav is about right for Decker. I was thinking the floor would be $18.5 aav. And up to 25aav. So right in the middle
The dude had 14.5 sacks in 20 games last yearā¦ this narrative that he can only get pressures and canāt finish sacks aint true. Now add Reader, Davenport and Houston.

Its more or less for that high of pressure rate his sack rate should be higher is the narrative.
I dont agree with that. But shows the potential once good players are with him.
Guys with similar pressure rates have 0.9 sacks a game vs hutch 0.73 sacks a game.
Thats the only gripe some people have. I dont. But some do

It is antiquated theory that the best pass rusher comes from the blind side. We have Decker for at least more 4 seasons. There is zero reason to think moving Penei is necessary.
